An option I use is a griddle (non stick) for my stove. It costs about 35-40 bucks and it comes in very handy for everthing. Breakfast, lunch and dinner. Although you dont get the flame broiled effect (I am not violating a copyright laws by saying that am I?), it cooks meat (eben hotdogs)...
I have one of these http://www.easternmarine.com/BLAYLOCK-Pintle-Ring/Lunette-Trailer-Coupler-Lock-TL-60/ and it works great. There is no 100% method of security, but with this in place, I have no fear leaving the trailer parked outside or out in the woods. There are also many styles for ball...
Something I used to do with my hard top on my jeep might work, but you would need a tree or over hang that you could use as a pulling point. I used to take off/put on my tops using a pully system and some tie down straps. In the garage, I had eye bolts in the rafters, but you could make a simple...
I appreciate your willingness to help out. Here is my email cprinceyfish@sbcglobal.net Let me know when and if you change it out. Although I only need a few partts, I may be interetsed in the whole axle/brake set up if you want to get rid of the whole thing. Thanks agaoin
I have to agree.....easier to load from the rear when hinged from the front, but if you are going with a RTT later i would consider hinging from the side as it is much easier to open from the side with the tent deployed.
I will be following this thread as I have recently picked up a similar generator trailer...the floor and fenders (as well as th data plates) were missing, but otherwise it looks like a beefed up 416 frame (add a leafs and some boxed in c channel on the front/rear.
Anyone out there know what i...
I know that many of you that have started with military trailers (m-100 and M-416's) and may have changed out axles. I am looking for some of the parts inside the brake drum to finish a restoration of a M-416.
I am looking for the left and right struts that seperate the brake shoes and also...
Either way you are going to have to do some work (or pay someone to do some work). The real question is how much do you want to spend and what kind and how much of the work are you going to do yourself. I think most of us will agree that "the build" itself is very rewarding. Whether you do the...
Try Vintage trailers in Diamond Springs (30 minutes east of Sacramento).
I know they build off road trailers. There is also a place in Dixon, but I cannot remember the name of the outfit. they also build off road trailers and do al kinds of fabrication.
It might help if you could post a picture or two....I have rebult 2 M100s that were manufactured by different companies (Strick and Dunbar) and have found a few minor manufacturing differences that would haelp if you have a "round" fender trailer
Wow...what a great foundation to start with, Do you know when it was built? It looks very sturdy already and seems to be a great frame work to begin your mods. Do you have welding/metal work skills or are you going to 'farm " that out?
I have a couple of questions that you may have already answered your self:
1) Is this the sole purpose of this trailer and you would not need it for other purposes (hauling, dump runs, etc)?
2) Tent camping vs. contained trailer, is a tent out of the question (weather in areas you travel bad...
