Took my 2018 camping twice so far this year. My fiancée and I have decided that we are going to take a 10 day trip through New Mexico and Colorado in the fall, so we have been testing out new gear and setups at some local spots in central Texas. It’s been a blast and tons of fun to see some...
Nice! I thought about doing the same thing when I had my RTT. I lost 10 MPG on my Subaru with it on top. I ended up selling it. That looks like a nice solution. It's got to be easier to setup instead of climbing on top of the vehicle too.
I think a Crosstrek would be a good option. I'm recommending one to my sister (she just graduated college) when she's ready to buy a car.
I have an Outback myself because I needed the extra room and travel ALOT (25k per year) so the smoother ride was a bonus for me. My Outback on oversized...
Hey everyone! I just bought a mountain bike a few weeks ago and wanted to show it off!
I used to bike everywhere when I was a kid and loved my bike through college until the frame cracked about 6 years ago. After that I just never got around to getting a bike again. I gained a few pounds and...
*BUMP*
I put selling this on the back burner for a few months while I was traveling. I'm back now and need this gone, it's taking up valuable garage space at the moment. Tent has only been used a few times and is still in "Like New" condition. $600 OBO
I think the XV and the 2015 Outback facelift really brought over a lot of people from the truck/suv world. I had a 2008 Hummer H3 with an ARB bumper before I got my Outback. I'm surprised at how many XV builds there are. I love the XV. I had to a hard time going between either the Outback or XV...
Bump for price drop.
Also I will be out of town from Wednesday, May 18 through June 1st. If someone in Nashville or Chicago wants it you have until Tuesday night or I will not be bringing it north with me.
SOLD
Hey everyone, so I'm selling my RTT. I love the tent, but I finally got some good MPG tests in and I'm going to go another route for my camp set up. I bought an Outback for the great milage, but the tent pulls the milage down too much on the highway (where I do most of my driving).
The...
I had an ARB bumper on my H3. I replaced both of the fogs. If they are the same, you have to open up the light, remove the bulb and replace it. I soldered on a new pig tail for use with my stock wiring. I don't remember the size of the bulb unfortunately. The whole thing took about an hour. So...
Looks great! I think I've seen your photos on Instagram.
I love the XV, I almost bought one but got the Outback instead for the extra room. I'm pushing my little sister toward getting one. Part of me still wants one, I just like the toss-ability factor thanks to the shorter wheel base.
Make sure you measure your tire size to make sure it won't rub the cone on the spring. I don't remember there being a lot of extra room. Spacers or a larger offset might work.
Skid plates would be a good idea. Luckily you really only need to worry about the front of the car, one of the...
Haha awesome! I've had 2 HDD failures since back then so I lost a lot of pictures. Here the few that survived. The Grabbers dos a great job on the sand in Daytona where I went to school as well as the snow back home in Chicago. My build was definitely more show than go, and I have since change...
I had a 2001 Odyssey in college, still holds the award for my favorite vehicle. Got it to 217000 miles before the transmission went out. I had General Grabbers on mine and they were great. I don't remember the size. I'll see if I can find any of my photos from a few years ago showing them.
I voted "Yes" but like a few of the others who chimed in it's a 50/50 story for me.
I keep my RTT on all the time and have a full size spare, my camp table and a box with my tools, a spare tent and several beach towels (Florida Life) that I keep with me all the time.
I then have a few other...
Awesome stuff, saw your pics on Instagram and loved it. I wonder if they would be able to adjust the design for an Outback. Carrying extra fuel has been a problem without any outside mounting points and the roof taken up by my RTT. I would also have a lot more room inside if I could move my...
I have the Smittybilt and made a quick review covering some of the differences between it and the others. I'm happy with the tent and for the price ($850.00) it's a great first RTT.
I actually like the ladder on the Overlander, it's the square ladder instead of the expandable style on some...
