I have that "thump" too, but it only happens if i push the gas a little too hard after letting it go, maybe i should replace my trailing arm bushings too. hmm

So im going to attempt this on my 1989 montero, since i dont have all the power options, but i really would like cruise control, and since there arent any better options, i think factory will be best, now I just have to find a monty with a cruise control i can rip out lol

oooooh do you mean the screw on top of the steering wheel gearbox? Do I tighten or loosen it to adjust slack?

actually, I adjusted my torsion bars today because they started to sag in the front, I leveled the car up and now the steering is perfect! it was a pain in the *** to do though, rusty bolts and not enough help ( alone) theres a nominal amount of play now in the steering and I dont feel like im...

no play in anything but it seems like the power steering gearbox has a small leak where the shaft comes out.
