Congrats on your first post! 🥳 I think the 1 ton is the way to go. We got into this when a Raven pushed our Silverado 1500 right to its GVWR.

Variable weight is a tough nut to crack. Like you, I think it’s best, but not perfectly handled with bags. They’re a little more boingy, but variable. It’s hard to do anything else. We run at a near constant weight, so our custom Deaver pack is perfect.

I haven’t met anyone with a diesel that gets any better mileage with a load. 😬

I averaged 11 mpg for the whole trip including all the off-road stuff in the park.

Carli and CJC both said to get the XHD for 2000 lbs. constant load. It still sagged a bit though, so Deaver added 2 leaves. It's marked as an XXHD, but it's sort of a custom franken spring. The Kings are tuned for the gas motor. It seems to ride great on and off road. If I were to do it all...

I didn’t. I considered it, even to the point that I had it measured. I decided putting a 10,000 pound, expensive rig in sketchy situations probably wasn’t wise. So, I bought an ‘03 Rubicon for that stuff. 🥳

I wish the mods would reply when a profile is reported. I have no idea if they are still active.

Not very safe buying things here

Well I “bought” it too. 😜 I bumped it being a huge fan of ComeUp. Then the “seller” bumped it again immediately. I thought it was weird, but it had the effect they desired. I looked at the ad again and saw the price drop. I tried to get a friend to buy it. After he passed, I figured I’d grab it...

Not very safe buying things here

I’ve always been a very trusting online consumer on forums, Craigslist, and FBMP. I’m afraid I was hooked in by this poster today too. I think I paid some life tuition on a learning experience. I reported the profile. My mistake was just looking at the number of posts that were up. Sucks, but oh...

    Tires

I had Wildpeaks on my last rig and used them year 'round. When I built the new rig, they weren't available due to supply chain issues. I ended up with Toyo AT3s. They suck in the winter. I now have studded Duratracs for the winter. Once the Toyos wear out, I'll go back to Wildpeaks.

    Hallmark bankruptcy dismissed!

I also love how posters who have no clue about what was happening are quick to malign Hallmark. The internet is such a strange place. It causes us to behave in ways that are oddly passive aggressive. If you knew the Ward family, you’d know how off those random, unsupported musings are. You’d...

    Hallmark bankruptcy dismissed!

Hallmark built their molds and supplied them to CF Meier. The quality CF Meier was producing was so poor, Hallmark had to seek another supplier. They used their molds for the new composite manufacturer. CF Meier sued them, claiming they were theirs, but they weren't. They were advised to undergo...

    Bowen NotSoFlat Bed Revisited

Nope. Bowen and Sherptek are the only ones i know of that offer beds at standard bed height. Of those two, I much prefer how Bowen accomplishes it. It's patent pending, so no one can copy it either.

    Ursa Minor Rubicon

That's a nice rig! If I didn't already have The Stormtrooper and a TJR, I'd find that build mighty interesting. Bump for a cool, capable build.

They didn't quote a time, just a price. They do great work though, including building full frame custom rigs. I like the owner a lot too. They'd be the ones to do them if I go that way.

I think that really depends on how you’ll use it. My vote was for agility, to carry a little extra fuel, and not to get into situations where it would be an issue. I didn’t want the length, but more importantly, fuel is heavy. With the smaller tank I have roughly a 300 mile range. I carry 4...
