    my aux. 12 volt plan

It would be cheaper but not as cool. Also those blocks take up real estate in the cooler. I went with the engle 50 qt and will never go back to ice. Planning on buying a second one.

    Morningstar inverter outlet...

WhAt inverter did you buy? If it is the sure sine wave 300, you can wire the power strip to it directly. That is the nice thing about that inverter, along with the Ability to wire a remote on/off switch.

    2nd Tundra USB port?

You need 12 watt min. USB to charge the new iPads. I have not been successful at finding hard wired ones so I use higher power plug ins like this one http://smile.amazon.com/gp/product/B00R0JYMXU/ref=ox_sc_act_title_1?ie=UTF8&psc=1&smid=AKBC2HTGGFZVH This one works great for charging two iPads...

    Solar to the rescue

First off, Nice build - had to check it out and it looks sweet. Second, so you are running your fridge and freezer in your house off that 1000 watt inverter? How many watts of Solar are you using in these photos?

    Camper Mounted Wind Generator

+1 -- And you just need sun to power it which most people get more of than wind. I have talked to many guys with turbines on their RVs, They all said that if they hadn't so much money on it, they would replace it with another solar panel. Everyone said this. I picked one up from a guy...

Manual Battery Disconnect Switch - Actuated from Inside or Outside Tongue Box

If it were me, I would put it closer to the battery as I could. All pranks aside, I would rather have to go out and flip the switch if one of my buddies decided to pull a prank. Now, I also go for connivence and would also install (or use) a switch inside the trailer so I could turn off any...

Anyone with a goal zero yeti 400 or 150

Yes. But remember, your Yeti charger could be charging at a lower rate than what you are trying to charge. If that is the case, you will drain the Yeti. That yeti is only putting in 80 watts per hour when plugged into the wall. So what ever your draw will be, needs to be less than 80 watts...

600w of panels only producing 200w of power

    house battery and shore power?

Because you are going to be running 12 volt only you may want to look at one of these http://www.iotaengineering.com/dls30.htm. This is what I use on my house battery (Trojan 31-AGM) with the IQ4 option. Not sure if it is a lot of hype but if the battery is depleted a good amount, with the 30...

Do I really need a dual battery system?

Agree totally here and your dometic doesn't take that much power. I know the Dometic (as I have one of the 50q) has setting for low voltage shut down and it works great for me. I run mine on med and always am able to start my truck.

Anyone with a goal zero yeti 400 or 150

When you say "Plugged in" do you mean into a 12 volt socket in your vehicle or into a AC plug? Regardless the answer is yes as power in is higher than power out. Remember that the charge cycle is longer at DC than AC.

600w of panels only producing 200w of power

Agreed on all points, but this is why he may only be getting 1/3 of is PV to the battery. Still a fabulous build in my opinion.

600w of panels only producing 200w of power

First off, nice build. That is one sweet rig. Looking at your build thread, you have 3 strings of batteries which is a bad a way to go as they will not charge and discharge equally due to resistance, You should have one string of batteries in series of the amp hour you need and at most two...

My super simple, single battery solution... or... good thing I have AAA

Great Report! Did you move the panel with the sun to make sure you were getting a direct angle the entire day? This will give you 25-30% more amps for more hours. Also, all of you with the standard charge controller that comes with it, if you step up to a MPPT charge controller ($139 for 20...

About to pull the trigger on a solar system. Thoughts about this system?

If you have the space it is cheaper to by a higher quality 300-325 watt grid tie panel and a MPPT charge controller. Will give you 40% more usable watts. Like stated before, spend the money on a better charge controller so it will last. Look at Midnite Solar KID, nice 30 AMP charger...

    Goal Zero Yeti 400 Experiences?

No you can not. None of these can. The DIY cheapo power in a box with a 100AMP Deep cycle AGM would do it. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7Tf3fngKA-c

Honda eu2000i use in bad weather

OP - what is nice with the EU2000 is you can attache snorkel to the exhaust pipe with hose clamps and run it vertical to the top of your vehicle. Now exhaust is above vehicle and blows away when wind is present. I use this in my cabin. I have a box made for it on the side of the cabin that...
