What do you guys think of this Montero?

Wow, excellent find! But more importantly, why hasn't this shown up when I do nationwide searches on cars.com and AutoTrader? I swear, sometimes I think the vehicle gods have it out for me. Good thing I'm mostly looking for a 3rd gen, though I'd definitely take a low-mile SR in a heartbeat...

    Land Cruiser Photos

My old 1994 FZJ80 Had this from 2005 - 2008, sold it because it was draining the wallet with fuel costs. Wish I would have never sold it, I regret it more and more every day, especially after seeing what the person who bought it from me has done to it (trashed, completely). I miss it like...

Looking at Gen II Montero's, Rear Suspension Weirdness

When trying to shift into 4L I tried it while stopped, while moving slightly, and nothing. Tried it in Neutral, Park, with brake on, off, parking brake on/off. It doesn't even feel as if there's a way for the shifter to even move forward at all. The other issues aren't that big of a deal to...

Looking at Gen II Montero's, Rear Suspension Weirdness

Well, I checked out the LS and was perplexed by a few things. 1. The oil pressure gauge reads really low, and barely moves at all. 2. I could not get it to shift into 4L, I tried every which way, no dice. 3. The front two wheels for the 4WD indicator seem to flash at random, and the center diff...

What can a first gen monty tow?

You got 14MPG towing THAT in the MOUNTAINS?!?!?! Wow! I couldn't even muster 14MPG from my unloaded Cruiser in KANSAS... Consider me sold on a Monty :D

Looking at Gen II Montero's, Rear Suspension Weirdness

I'd love to have an SR, believe me, there were two for sale near me for a while but I never got responses from the sellers. I'm basically just going to look at this one to check out a Monty. I've always liked them, I've just never actually seen one up close and personal. I would still take an...

Looking at Gen II Montero's, Rear Suspension Weirdness

I was used to my Land Cruiser being a little higher in the back unloaded, but not that much. Perhaps it's just worn out torsion bars, plus a mixture of an odd lighting angle that's making it look worse than it really is. Thanks for the reply!

Looking at Gen II Montero's, Rear Suspension Weirdness

I'm going to look at the brown 1997 Montero LS pictured below on Saturday, I noticed the rear appeared to be sitting higher than the front, I chalked it up to the incline and assumed it was mildly flexing. Today, I was looking on AutoTrader and noticed another 1997 with a "high butt". I'm now...

Oh ... just humor the idiot - please

Don't sell it in the name of gas mileage! I sold my mildly built 1994 FZJ80 because I thought it was costing me too much in fuel. While it was spendy, I deeply regret ever getting rid of it. I replaced it with a 1998 Volvo V70XC (similar to an Outback) and while I've saved gas money, and it...
