I appreciate everyone's help and input. I am by no means a craftsman, but I spent the weekend working on a simple platform. I originally planned to paint the wood once it gets warm however I may end up just carpeting it. Overall based on my skillset/lack thereof I am happy with the results.
This looks like a really slick option, however, it looks like more than I will have the space for. I wish they sold just the mounting crossbars that any slide system could tie into.
This seems to be the most popular option I have seen. I am thinking of doing the same. I was hoping to find a way to just secure the slide to the factory mounting points, but I do not see an option. I have been doing some mockups to cut out some plywood. I was hoping to use another material that...
For those of you using a fridge slide in your Jeep. How did you secure it to the Jeep? I’m looking to add one to my setup and hoping to learn from your experiences!
I’ll admit I was on the fence too. Most of the time I don’t need it. The few times I have it was the only suitable option and I was so glad I had it.

I have gotten stuck a few times. One of the scariest was just a few months ago. A relatively tame part of a trail turned really bad when we almost slid off the side of the road down 10 ft. Luckily a stump and the winch made it possible for me to get out.
What an incredible trip. The Arizona desert is vastly underrated, especially when you add in the nice winter weather!

Two weeks ago I loaded up the Jeep and headed south towards Utah's San Rafael Swell. It is one of my favorite places to explore and this time I had the privilege of getting a tour from Christian Probasco the author of Backroads of Utah's San Rafael Swell. I met him and several new friends for a...
I have kind of let this thread die a bit but I am vowing to revive it and update it with my trips. I have several in the backlog that I will work on trip reports for. However, I wanted to post about my most recent trip into the mountains. Each year right around Thanksgiving most of the canyon...
I have been looking into storage solutions for my JKU. Ive considered a built in system like Goose Gear however it's really not in the budget. Additionally I like the flexibility of being able to easily remove gear. So I have been considering using some storage bins. I have looked at a bunch...
It only took 10 days for Pony Express Trail riders to get mail from Missouri to California which is incredible especially since it took me almost two to cover just the West Desert portion in Utah. I loaded up my Jeep with my 3 year old son and our 7 year old Labrador and headed out to Utah's...
Thanks for sharing! Looks like such an awesome place to explore driving on the beach is definitely on the bucket list. Seeing some wild horses while at it sounds like the perfect combo.

Skyline Drive is often called the spine of Utah. The road runs roughly 100 miles from Tucker just off of Highway 6 to I70 in central Utah. Overall the due to the high elevation of the road it’s only possible to run the entire trip in the deep summer or fall after the snow starts to melt. I have...
I’ve had a soft top in the past and now have a hard top. I loved being able to take the top down in a matter of minutes. Increased sound and weather protection as well as rear cargo access are what drove me to the hard top on round 2.
