    Front Runner Expander Chair Review

that's for tossing that out. I'm always searching for the perfect chair that is comfortable but folds up compact. So far I've been using the GCI Kickback rocker and have really enjoyed it.

Best privacy tent/shower/toilet enclosure? Best compact "toilet" for WAG bags?

I can't recall the name of the folding toilet that I use, but I've had it for about 12 years. When in the humid east coast environments I just dig a small hole. In arid climates I use the bags. It's a rectangular shape with three foldable legs. The only complaint I have about it is I pinch...

Four Wheel Camper - A Review

Just to add one more wrinkle in the discussion, went out last weekend for a long camping trip. My 80 series, which I always considered a larger platform seemed small compared to our friends Ford van! The van did great but it was catching limbs left and right on the tight east coast trails...

Four Wheel Camper - A Review

because I've experienced my 80 series and how it handles, wheels and overall drivability decrease as I've continued to add more and more weight to it. Yes, you can add heavier springs, adjustable shocks, ect. but that is not the best route in my opinion. So I'm not trying to max out the...

Four Wheel Camper - A Review

not trying to derail this thread..... Been a Toyota guy for a very long time, but they have lost their edge. And, when thinking about load and being real about it, I just don't think the current Tundra is up to the challenge. Probably leaning towards at least an HD truck, probably diesel...

Four Wheel Camper - A Review

This is a great thread that I'm glad I stumbled into. I'm still in the process of reading through this entire thread. I'm in a mental spot where after 25 years of adventures in my Land Cruiser with a RTT, I'm getting older and the hard core bug is fading away while the adventure with comfort...

SOLD! Bush Co. DX27 RTT & 270XT Awning

Great deal! I have the AX with the awning and the Bush Company awning walls and must say I think your wall kit might be superior. The kit from the Bush Company is built to last but is super heavy. Love seeing how you have adapted.

    FS: Helton Hot Water Heater

I have this Helton unit available for sale in North Carolina. I've had it mounted on my 80 series Land Cruiser for years and it works great. Doing a lot of work on the 80 lately and going to go in a different direction so this was pulled off the truck. Unit and two mounting clamps. All you...

    Topo Toppers

jumping in with a low level question. Several manufacturers are saving on weight and are leaving the inside roof bare. Meaning it's composite board or whatever material the roof structure is. IIRC there was one major complaint about GFC and that was the condensation build-up on the inside of...

WARNING: ARB Awnings & Awning Rooms NOT Weatherproof

absolutely make sure you have proper drainage pitch on the awning or it will turn into a swimming pool and then break one of the side poles. I did that twice before learning my lesson. Seriously though, with the proper pitch and staking it out, the arb awning will stand up to some abuse...

WARNING: ARB Awnings & Awning Rooms NOT Weatherproof

interesting. I had one of their awnings and awning rooms for years. Used it in heavy wind/rain on beach campouts. Kept me dry and out of the elements for years. It finally took a 30 knot wind storm to cause some damage on mine.

    Bush Company Alpha RTT

the ladder is like other RTT ladders, pretty tuff on your feet. I purchased the iCamper step pads and added them to the ladder. That helped a ton.

How do I heat a RTT? (Plus a mild review of FSR High Country Premium 80”)

I went a different route and run an electric blanket. It works great. I do have a battle born lithium battery but there's plenty of power to get through a long, cold night. Now I don't have a ton of bedding up in the RTT which is another side effect that I would call a win.

How many of you ACTUALLY overland with your 80s or 60s

The last two years I've wondered if I could even sell my 80, especially when they are fetching top dollar. But, kind of repeating myself from my above post, the memories in this truck are off the charts. I've had it and slowly built it up for over 23 years. Every dent, scratch, upgrade and...

How many of you ACTUALLY overland with your 80s or 60s

I think you are just "thinking this". My 80 is pretty much my overland and camping rig, period. I've had it for a long time and love it. So many memories made in that truck. I'm now at a point in life that I'm over the hard core off roading. I'm very lucky to have done some of it (all...

    On board air options

the old York systems are still a good option and if you have an 80 series, absolute Witts end makes a bracket kit for them.

There is another wall that blocks off the big opening where my hood is, I don't have it in place in this picture.
