This is the Kelty Noah's Tarp 16 with two Kelty adjustable tarp poles. The tarp has been used on two trips and the poles on only one. Everything is in like new condition.
Info on tarp: https://www.kelty.com/noahs-tarp/ (note the color difference. The one listed here is a dark khaki color called...
Bought this a little over a year ago. Have used it twice. It is an awesome sleeping pad. Super warm, super comfortable, super roomy. Like new condition. Includes pad + large "schnozzle" bag for inflation + storage bag + repair kit (unused). This is the long/wide size pad.

It would normally be in the toilet/shower tent when camp is set up.
Alternatively, getting it mounted inside where it would slide out from the side or under the bed wouldn't be impossible with a little redesign.
Wow, I can't believe it's been five years since I posted the original message! Sadly, no, I never have built this. I actually drug it all back out several months ago and started tinkering with ideas again. I still plan to, but as one other pointed out, life does have a way of getting in the way.
Not too much really.
Some of the SP and NP are more "remote" than others. Big Bend State Park comes to mind (and my favorite) :)
For camping, I have begun to enjoy some of the off road parks more. Such as Barnwell in Gilmer, TX. You can get way back there by yourself on the 1600 acres. Lots of...
That's a cooler as in "keep your drinks cool" cooler and not "keep the wife happy in the summer in a tent" cooler.

:)
it holds 2 liter bottles.
Just FYI...if you ever plan on taking it back apart, you might consider 4200. 5200 is major strong and almost impossible to remove the parts without damaging the pieces.
Just ordered canvas :wings:
I'll be ordering steel end of next week, axle shortly thereafter.
Still on the fence on what the final suspension will be. Probably use my old mini truck leafs at first just to get it mobile, but at some point, plan on independent of some sort. It's one of those...
LOL well what can I say? I'm just lucky that way.
I hope I can get this thing ready for a trip by the end of the summer. Hated I couldn't make next weekend. Too much happening the next two months. I'm hoping things settle down after that. I'll be lucky to even make a day trip to Barnwell in May.
There is also a rule of thumb that says make the wheelbase of the vehicle and the wheelbase of the trailer be the same or close. Wheelbase of the trailer was defined as hitch pivot point to trailer axle center. The idea is that it will track closer to the vehicle's track.
No way I'd run the tires outboard. It's too wide as is :)
I think it's doable and the light gauge stock frame really isn't adding too much weight. It'll simplify things considerably so I imagine that's what I will do.
As for additional storage, I've toyed with the idea of doing some on the...
I had originally planned on junking the factory frame and axle, replacing it with a more beefy design. However, I'm second guessing that plan after really checking out how Coleman designed this thing. The lift mechanism and the wiring all integrate in and around the frame. Also, the aluminum...
