Smittybilt XRC vs AEV rear bumpers

Daystar cans stack so you can have as many as you need. Good luck getting the last two gallons out of the AEV with a siphon.

Smittybilt XRC vs AEV rear bumpers

I shouldn't have said "pump" its a shaker siphon type deal. I'll continue to turn a portable gas can up for $300.00 less. These Daystar Cans seem like a better/more versicle value. I totally agree on the Aluminum rear bumpers. Getting the weight down would be nice.

Smittybilt XRC vs AEV rear bumpers

I wouldn't do either. I have an AEV front bumper on my JK now and the rust is bad. I live in Nebraska (we don't use salt) and it's rusting . . . doesn't say much for the quality. I had looked into their gas caddy system and honestly looks like a bigger problem than an advantage. I'm not...

    Cheap Fridge <$400 shipped

Trying this section for some help on an edgestar fridge. I recently purchased an open box/scratch and dent fridge and when I received the fridge it didn't work. Don't worry about me, I called them and told them it wasn't working and they refunded me full and let me keep it. . .pretty cool...

I like that you reused the factory bottle, I'll try that way first.

    Liberty Expedition Rig

I'm going to try to cut the leading edge and angle it back to the inner fenderwell (like photo). I just have to make sure I won't hit metal/other obstruction. It will match what I did on the front for clearance . . . haven't hacked on a libby before so its all a learning experience so far!

    Liberty Expedition Rig

I was thinking about the diagonal sleeping. . .going to try it out and see. If all else fails, popping the rear and putting up a net to keep bugs out or tarp if I expect rain may be a compromise. I also cycled the suspension last night to check clearances with the tires. With the swaybar...

    Liberty Expedition Rig

Hmm . . . I may tinker with the seat a little and see if I can't get it to adjust forward more. Good to know, thanks!

    Liberty Expedition Rig

Used the libby as an excuse to procrastinate on another project tonight. Removed the two rear seats and did some measuring. With the front passenger seat pushed forward (doesn't go that far or lean that far either) I was able to get 6' total length for the cargo area. Considering I'm 6...

    Liberty Expedition Rig

Front 20" from bottom of flare to center of wheel Rear 22" from bottom of flare to center of wheel. I purchased an aluminum spool gun for my miller 211 autoset today. I'll start sourcing some aluminum square tubing for the sleeping platform soon. The platform won't be that tall but will have...

    Liberty Expedition Rig

The JK tires and wheels are definitely the way to go. I picked up five almost new ones, with wheels, for $500 and I have another $200 in wheel spacer adapters. If I were to buy new tires alone, I would have $750 minimum into a set. Not my first time using JK tires and wheels either. I built...

    Liberty Expedition Rig

photobucket was being lame so I'll just uploaded these for now. The tires fit better than I thought they would. Rub on the front bumper but no problems on the rear portion as long as you fold the pinch weld. Even with the spacer adapters they don't stick out too far past the flare...

    Liberty Expedition Rig

Thanks for the tips guys. I have checked out Jeeping by Al and a few other kits. Honestly I want to keep this project on a "budget" since my other projects are beyond financial advisement. I guess I'll wait for these springs to squat out and then put some new springs on. Are the fronts the...

Thanks for the advice!! The rear seat delete is exactly what I'm looking into now. Was planning on getting it out of there this weekend and pics would be great!

    Liberty Expedition Rig

So last weekend I started with a 2" daystar budget boost, spidertrax wheel spacer adapters, and JK Rubicon Wheels and tires. Since it is a 2002 model a larger lift is difficult with this year being unique for the front suspension. I can tell you a 255X75R17 is Tight but it does clear with a...

    Liberty Expedition Rig

I moved to the panhandle of Nebraska nine months ago. It didn't take long for me to realize a more well rounded rig is the way to go and my rock crawlers don't cut it in the cold. Not to mention the wind and hills out here whip their butt even with steep gears. So I picked up a super...
