    JK 2.8 CRD

No malice, just frustration towards tire kickers. Keep in mind that 'better deal' may never come along. Some people choose to build the vehicle they want rather than wait for a vehicle that may never be released.

Overhog, most diesel truck owners buy a $60k truck and gut the cats, remove the DPF's right out of the gate completely voiding their powertrain warranty in the process. I dont think the folks we're marketing this to are that concerned with a notoriously shoddy dealer warranty. What I would be...

No, as in factory, OEM Jeep. If they were still installed, it would be called a complete vehicle. So what you're saying is that people wanting a diesel JK are only interested if they can go into debt over it? How many people have $18k into their jeeps not including an engine swap? Quite a...

    JK 2.8 CRD

Sure glad we stick mainly with Toyotas :) It's really quite remarkable how many "tire kickers" we've seen with this thing. You'd think that all the people griping about the lack of a factory JK diesel option for all these years would be beating our doors down...

Have you looked into the dakota digital line of tach processors?

1999 Jeep Wrangler 2.2L Kubota diesel swap

I think I may be qualified to comment. Nicely installed and looks like a fun little engine! Really good fuel economy as well. I'd take that little Kubota over a 4BT any day. My only technical question/comment would be that the tachometer looks like it's not reading accurately. What are you using...

We have just had a large Toyota booking so it looks like we will need to sell this Jeep package. $18,500 shipped to lower 48 or $18,000 local pickup. For all those who say "if Jeep ever released a diesel wrangler..." here's your chance. A factory JK overseas is a $50,000 vehicle. Interested...

    JK 2.8 CRD

Yes, this is a factory Wrangler (not liberty) engine so it's basically bolt-on. We may end up selling this one as we have 14 months of Toyota swaps ahead of it.

Sure, give us a call when you're ready. The 2.8 has excellent parts availability here in the USA. The main parts differences from the liberty diesel engines are the turbo and injectors.

On 99% of the stuff, you dont remove it as this is body stuff and nothing to do with powertrain. On the connections that are engine-specific, the wire colors are the same with the same number of pins, but the connectors are different. So, you just have to remove some pins, put them in the...

Nah, just swap everything over. Much easier than any other swap we do by a long shot. Engine is a VM Motori 2.8 liter common rail VNT that is an updated version of the engine we got in the Liberty in '05-'06.

Thanks With the tuner, you've got 5 tune settings available. Tune #5 adds approx 80 ft/lbs. The first 3 settings really don't affect economy if you keep your foot off of it. On 4-5, your economy will suffer by a few mpg's but nothing huge. Many parts are available through your local Toyota...

Yes the conversion includes the diesel engine/trans. Depends on the application. For some vehicles, the stock electronically controlled tcase remains during the conversion. For others, we swap it out. Yes it is possible to drop a manual transmission into a 4th gen 4runner. We can use either an...

Eastwood makes some great stuff. Normally, when we get rusty vehicles in the shop we strip the frame down when the engine/trans is removed. We bead blast where needed, then coat the frame with an industrial zinc oxide primer to chemically stop any rust we cant physically remove. The final...

This is certainly not a cheap endeavor though. The power-trains are all super-low mileage from vehicles with typically less than 20,000 KMs. In order to get everything required for the conversion we need to buy complete running/driving vehicles (really not cheap...). Then we need to dismantle...
