Newbie considering building a camper trailer has questions.

I would possibly try posting this in the "camper" section since they are more well versed in the larger trailers. The majority of the trailers in this section are mainly 8x5 or smaller with some exceptions. Not trying to discourage you, i just think you may have more luck there. I am trying to...

Newbie considering building a camper trailer has questions.

I don't suppose you have any drawings of your creation to be do you? Seems like a fairly large trailer but if you poke around here a bit, you will get a pretty good idea of what most ended up doing for a trailer foundation as well as materials used. How much do you estimate your finished product...

    Fiberglass animal control box?

Definitely sound advice. I havn't been able to get in touch with the owner yet so it may be a moot point but I just wanted to know what others would have to say about the fiberglass and if it's absorbant.

    Fiberglass animal control box?

I have the opportunity to get a fiberglass animal control body that was on a pickup. Does anyone think it will still have a smell after years of non use? I will attempt to upload a pic

    a little aluminum advice please!

I was thinking about just letting it bake in the sun before I secured it. But it seems like either way, there are 2 states for the aluminum to be in, expanded or contracted. Which ever way I choose will only be acceptable 50% of the time. I really do appreciate the VHB suggestion. The video is...

    Trailer wiring harness question.

I know you want the assembly intact but if you're handy with a soldering iron, i'd get a $10 universal flat trailer plug and splice it to your harness. Throw on some heat shrink tubing and grab a beer!

    a little aluminum advice please!

I am absolutely pro "less work" I am just worried about the panel flying off without any fasteners, just adhesive tape securing it on. Can you imagine a 3 1/2' x 8' piece of aluminum taking flight off of a trailer that is in front of you at 70 mph? Maybe I will use the bonding tape and figure...

    a little aluminum advice please!

Damn.....such a shame. It's nice, looks good and is light weight but the down side is warping. I guess I can add another support down the center so it is attached on the perimeter as well as the center. Maybe put rivets every 8 to 10 inches. I will eventually put a RTT on so it will cover up the...

    Trailer thoughts and ideas

LOL......I'm working on MY trailer :) There are many ways to skin this cat but I believe that would be one of the easier, cheaper ways.

    Trailer thoughts and ideas

I'm fairly skilled with an angle grinder but I don't know how you are. I would lay out the measurements for the door, then slap a cutting wheel on my grinder and cut away. Remember to check and make sure you're not cutting through wiring and such sammiched between the wood and steel. Cut...

    Trailer thoughts and ideas

Honestly, you're only limited by your imagination. Have you given serious thought as to what you would ultimately want in a trailer? Consider the places you will take your trailer and the uses (storage, camping, hauling mulch). I would start with a plan, but the main questions I would have for...

    a little aluminum advice please!

Any thoughts on the performance of this product? What about the aluminum expanding and contracting from the heat? If all 4 sides of the sheet are bonded to the frame, how will the aluminum sheet react? Thanks

    a little aluminum advice please!

I really thought about that! I was just concerned with the one piece aluminum flying off while on the interstate when the tape reaches the end of its life.

    a little aluminum advice please!

Greetings everyone! I am doing a build (that I will share soon enough with everyone) and the roof/front of the trailer exterior are a single sheet of 4x8 aluminum bent to 90 degrees and placed on a 2x2 square steel frame. My question is, how should I secure the aluminum to the steel? Rivets...

Question about your old trailer: I don't suppose you can tell me where you got your bullet...

Question about your old trailer: I don't suppose you can tell me where you got your bullet hinges from and what size they were? I have found some suppliers but I don't want to order 2 or 3 just to find the correct size and yours seem to be the right size that I need. Thanks for any info and...
