I have had the RPi running some control based on the Ambo requirements on the desk but on the truck I used a simple switch pane for the required circuits. Still on the project list but not very high at the moment.

We made them up out of hood hinges from some European car. I don’t have the details with me but the part number for the base unit is on my whiteboard I hope. We will be doing some more work on the design to add struts or actuators to lessen the risk of the bed squashing someone.

Our dual cab has a GVWR of 25000 and a curb weight of 18000. As it sits now with the big axles, wheels, all setup for a trip including spare it comes in at 22500-23000. That’s with a lot of tools water etc. so plenty of capacity left. These trucks also come with scuba tank holders which I find...

The idea is to use all rubber hose and have a strain relief loop. Also there will be enough slack to let me drop the unit down to the ground.

After a long wait they have finally arrived. 16 280Ah 3.2 v Lithium cells. Sadly only 8 of them are for this truck. But 560Ah should be enough for most situations. Hopefully I can get them fitted before heading out for a couple of months. More to follow as I start putting the packs together.
