Well, it is a Cummins, and commercial trucks get over a million miles all the time, sooo.... no real excuse for it not to be able to reach that point.

More oil = better. These things hold 11 quarts, almost 3 GALLONS of motor oil. I hope mine lasts 1/3 that long.

My 7.3 Powerstroke takes 14.5 qts.

Ive never seen a million mile 'stroke. :snorkel:

That said, at 230k on her now, I figure she has at least another 200k in her.

I know of a few high mileage diesel pickups but only a handful with more than 500K. An old 95 K2500's with a 6.5 TD that I had pulled off 550K (original engine) before a rod let loose. A friends 95 Power Stroke has 780K with the (original engine) last I looked and it is still used daily.

I would like to know how many VP44's and lift pumps that Cummins ate up in its lifetime :Wow1:

I think its on VP44 # 3, maybe 2

I'm at jsut under 200,000 miles on my original vp44, truck has been modified since day 1 and heavily moddified for a while now. Put in a real lift pump and change your fuel filter and those vp44's are not as bad as many people make them out to be.

Agreed. I believe the owner mentioned replacing several lift pumps so I assumed that he was running the stock style. I had a VP truck (great trucks thats for sure) and learned the hard way about lift pumps--no good at all $$$$ :( :bike_rider:
