100W Portable kit on ebay

I used the Renogy portable panel this past weekend in Monache Meadows without any issues. I fired it up and it read 5.6amps was being fed to my battery. The controller is nice with a LCD readout and various settings including type of battery and a timer for the accessory load (i.e. lights). Here's a link to more info on the controller's features and the manual: http://www.epsolarpv.com/en/index.php/Product/index/id/149/am_id/134
The overall build quality is much nicer than the typical ebay versions, the wiring has a protective jacket, the battery clips are better and connect via Anderson style plugs, the legs don't feel flimsy and the bag is semi rigid and provides more protection. It costs more but I think you get what you pay for in this case.
I just called them and ordered the 100w kit; it was on back-order for a long time. I want to use it this weekend so I paid for the expedited shipping.
Still a decent deal.
I'm looking forward to not having to raise the temperature in my fridge on extended outings, not having to plug in to the Jeep, not having to fire up a genny, not having to find a campground...

Thanks Bill!
Just got one too (replacing Aspect Solar Powerbar and panel)
Cool; can't wait to get mine...
Just got a call from them, in fact. I had started to order the "suitcase" on Monday from the website and called them on the phone to complete the order. They were following up.
Shows they pay attention.

I think the guy I spoke with is going to join the forum.

My plan is to run a fridge off the battery and recharge the battery with whatever can be gained with the solar panel.

That's the way to do it.
My fridge draws less than 3 amps with the compressor running. This kit produces over 5 amps in ideal conditions. I'm hoping that I can get my batteries to full every afternoon, even in warm/hot weather.

azbackcountry, you think it would run my colman thermoelectric cooler?
Read what surly said.
It won't "run" the cooler; it will charge a battery. The battery powers the cooler.
How many amps does the cooler draw? They're typically not very efficient.

I love my Renogy 100 watt suitcase. You guys won't be disappointed, nice charge controller too.

Mine arrived a little while ago and a few of the electrical engineers that I work with have been playing with it. Lots of appreciative mutterings.
Can't wait to use it tomorrow.

Thanks for the recommendation guys.

I received my 100w Suitcase yesterday - the build quality is fantastic.

I am currently charging my ArkPak in the front yard as a test run before heading for the hills this weekend!

So far, I am very impressed.

I hope mine is there when I get home. Ready to do a driveway test with a case of beer!

Yes, I meant will it keep my battery topped up. I think my cooler is 5-8 amps. I'm going to check the specs and get back to you. thanks bud.

Is your cooler a cooler or a fridge? Of it's a cooler then it will have a continuous compressor on it and you will toast your battery in no time.
