While installing my body lift, I decided to put in a new Dual core Radiator while I had my old one out. I have no idea what ford was thinking putting a single core radiator in a tow package Supercrew F150.

Why are you installing a body lift? You had the stance of the truck perfectly "just so" before.

Installing larger tires?

Which radiator did you go with?

Factory replacement for Ford F150's and Expeditions with the Super Cooling & Tow package. #F75H 8005-GB

I don't like using special aftermarket parts because it never fails that I break something and get stuck waiting for parts. I can't imagine a Bee-cool or similar radiator would be any more efficient.

Totally agree. I always try to replace with Ford stock parts. I only swap out parts if I find something that is readily available and is big improvement over OEM parts.

Thanks for the parts number. After doing a search, the OEM number is F75Z8005GA, just an FYI for anyone else looking for the part.

The number you posted led me to this post: http://www.f150online.com/forums/v8-engines/8847-wrong-radiator-2000-2001-f150s-23.html#post65747

$473 is not bad at all. It also seems to be listed as the OEM radiator for the Lightning.
Incredible that Ford included the skinny radiators in place of the double row and shrugged it off as "misbuilds".

I am going to have a look at mine after to see what I have in there. as a side note, Texan here gave me a link for some rear lift shackles. I am going that route to get my lift and add some airbags. much cheaper than springs and I keep the ride.

My wife and munchkin couldn't get into the truck without jumping and pulling in so I had the bright idea to put the running boards on and add the 3" lift. A body lift on its own usually looks pretty stupid but the running boards will cover it and most importantly, I won't lose any ground clearance. Now, they'll just have to step up on the boards and get in normally without any of the convoluted manouvering.

Here's a truck with the same setup. Mine's not done so I can't take any pictures but his truck was where I got the idea.

Thanks for giving the correct number. I had searched through so many. A guy on another forum suggested a 3 Core radiator that could have been cooler but that was limited to the 97/98 F250LD's. I couldn't find a single one locally so that would have been as bad as getting an aftermarket.

Good deal.

Do you have the running boards? if not I think im taking mine off. I would sell them for the cost of the lift shackles.

Yes, I have them already. I took them off my truck last year and put them in storage. Thank you though.

Love this thread. I have the Expedition version of your truck:

Mine is my daily driver and family camping truckster. My expedition rig is my Explorer.

I don't have big plans to mod my Expedition but I love finding out about the parts-bin-swap upgrades like the calipers and radiator.

Yours looks great- especially with all those Expedition parts! :bike_rider:

3" body lift looks great. Would that work for a 99 Expy?
Anything else needed (i.e. Torsion bars, leveling kit, etc.).

Great looking truck. I have a 2001 supercrew 4x4 that I hope to get to have some fun with. Keep it up, looks awesome!

Wolvee, I have an 02 F150 Lariat Screw. I've been doing a lot of research on the suspension, I have had no luck as far as finding aftermarket upgrades for our trucks.I know there are lifts out there but I'm not looking to just lift the truck and call it a day. I want an actual suspension that will perform like I see on the newer F150 and Tacomas that have the coilover setup. Now that I've read your build can you tell me how the Moog A-arms and ball joints are doing and do you notice an major difference in the way the truck feels? I also wanted to ask why did you go with the 4600's up front and not the 5100's, I know you stated you had some of the parts already but I was just curious as to why not have the 5100's up front as well. I hope you don't mind me asking all these questions but like I said I'm doing a lot of research and I'm wondering if I should keep my truck because of the suspension aspect only. There is so much more out there for 04+ and then I start looking at all these fab shops and they've got dam near everything for the Tacoma.

Sucks doesn't it? I gave up on finding a suspension system similar to one Old Man Emu would make for a taco. It simply doesn't exist for our year trucks. That, and a massive lack of aftermarket support doesn't make a truck that can be easily modified. Here's what I found tho....I'm amazed at the stuff I have taken my truck through. I got over the whole lack of aftermarket support and decided to just go with it. I have been all over the south west states and it does just fine. You simply don't need a lift to have a legit truck... Keep your truck and save some money for a Raptor.
