yep standard VW bus with the bottom cut off and mounted on some sort of tracked vehicle.

very similar age to my old 65.............the oddest thing is that the tracks are in reverse !
normally on a tracked vehicle the triangular double wheel end is at the front !

To me it looks like a 60's hippy who got drafted and didn't want to leave his VW home :wings:

Have seen these used at sky resorts, but the treads look a little heavy for that.

I've actually seen this thing as I live a couple miles from this dealership.

The Weasel half is stock but pretty rough with lots of bits missing and the VW part is too. It was a pretty basic modification of bolting the VW to the weasel.

I found a very similar machine in the bush a couple of miles from my house. Except it has an old Fargo Van body on it. Some miner was using it to get to his placer claim apparently, and one day parked it in the bush and for the last dozen or so years the forest has been reclaiming it.
