Be far less hassle & a fair bit cheaper to just 'harden up a bit' while camping, (or buy a decent tent / swag.........)

The tops are easy on-off from these series LCs. If he did it and used another top and bolted everything to existing locations (which I would think would be perfectly reasonable) it could be reversible.
What I was suspecting & hoping for. Bolt-on making it a reversible modification.
To some degree we are but custodian's of the rarer vehicles. I'll not deny that it's totally up to the owner as to what is done, but to me the greatest sacrilege is what Jesse James & gang did to that uncut Early Bronco.

Yeah, hacking the top of a Troopy is better left for those in OZ who have many to choose from at the wrecking yards...not for those of us who have one of the few in the US....

Ahhh, perfect - glad we're all decided with that then - what else do ya want us to 'council' ya through........???
"Here, come & have a wee lay down on this couch & lets talk through the issues that trouble ya......."

Might be there for a while though.........:) :) (you wanna start off with the BM you've got.......??)

On a serious note, even in these parts, good tidy early Cruisers are starting to get rarer, & the tidy ones for sale are fetching good money.

Wow...time will fly by. I must be working too much.

Recent changes to the Troopy:

Upgraded the batteries to two Sears Diehard Platinums...work great!

Got the kiddo's carseat installed; she loves riding in dad's Cruiser!

I have some spray cans of custom color matched paint that will take care of the primered sections.... :ylsmoke:

....and today, I finally made the decision to help with some of the heat and security caused by the copius amounts of clear glass...

TINT!

Front and center windows are 32% 3M film, with the rear windows 14% 3M film....

So far, I like it. It looks darker than it is. Much cooler in the cab, and it provides a bit more security from prying eyes!

How is it driving off road at night with the tint? I am trying to decide what levels to go with, my friend that is doing it is trying to talk me into 20% but I'm afraid that it will be too dark at night.

I've found the rear window tint directly drives reverse light mods as the next step. Patch uses a Bosch made, junkyard sourced 55W H3 Ford fog light driven by a relay.

Well, it is darker. I still love the tint. On road is no problem. Off road at night; well, I use the mirrors and the rearview camera, so it's really not much of an issue. Well worth the additional security and cooler interior.

What kind of rear view camera are you using? Would you recommend it?

I am tiered of the reverse and pray method.
