1985 VW Westfalia EJ22/Subaru 2.2

For sale is our 1985 Westfalia, full camper—with a CA Smog legal phase 1 Subaru EJ22 (full KEP kit). We've gone through this bus extensively thinking we'd keep it for the next decade, but having a newborn at home has our priorities shifting towards a camping rig with airbags. The engine/drivetrain was just gone over by AE motorsports here in Santa Cruz. This included resurfacing the heads w/new head gaskets, and replacing all sensors (Subaru OEM at my request), then going over everything with a fine-tooth comb to ensure reliability. The exterior is 8/10, still sporting factory paint. The interior is 9/10, never abused, or overly modified. Mechanically everything is dialed with no leaks—it's been my daily driver for the last ten months. We purchased the Westy from its second owner for 22k, and have put about 20k into it. We are asking 28k firm, no trades, no shipping. I just pulled a carfax and can send it upon request.

I have records going back to the '90s and the original manuals + shop manuals for the VW and Subaru engine.

-Buyer will need to purchase a GW-FOLD-SOLAR from GoWesty (or put together your own kit) to complete the deployable solar setup; they’ve been out of stock.
-Back hatch has a few surface rust spots showing
-Body is really straight but has a few dings/chips/scratches/etc. I like the patina, but it would be a good candidate for a respray, too.
