I imported this truck from Germany 2 years ago with the intent to travel round the world in it. An unexpected illness forced my plans to change. It was in great condition and ready to travel when I purchased it. I was in the process of updating it and configuring it for my needs, and have been unable to completely finish it as I had wanted. As a result, it has been sitting for 1 1/2 years still needing some minor work done in the camper.

The truck runs great, is rust free, and I would not hesitate to drive it anywhere. I picked it up in Germany from the previous owner, drove it to the port in Belgium and from the port in Texas to my home. It is very sad for me that this has to go up for sale, and someone will be getting a very good running and functioning Unimog camper. It has been used and shows some wear commensurate with its use. The camper was converted from an ambulance body in 2003. The previous owners have driven it for extended periods in North Africa, Europe, as well as USA, Mexico and Central America.

The price is $44,000 OBO

Sorry about the bad driveway photos.

I wish you the best on your sale. Looks like an excellent opportunity for the right person.

Best wishes,

Nice hard cab version - looks like its taller and that it uses a flat windshield. Would be great to make the wing windows into openable vent/flap windows. GLWS!

Lovely rig! A few questions:
1. What is the length overall?
2. What kind of fuel mileage do you get?
3. What is a comfortable highway speed for this beast?
Thanks!

Thanks for the kind words, everyone.

Haf-E, If you mean the vent windows in the driver's cab, they are not operable and do not open. The 417s which are somewhat rare, at least in the USA, all have flat windscreens.

Glider, The overall length is about 18 feet. Mileage is 10 -12 mpg depending on the headwind. Comfortable highway speed is 50 - 60 mph.

Okay, I'm an idiot. Then vent windows do not open. Edited to correct my error.
