1991 HDJ77 Toyota Land Cruiser LX JDM, H55F 5spd
Well, regretfully, I am putting my baby up for sale. I have realized that I now need a pickup truck for the type of work that my business requires. I have owned many 40's and 60's and when i saw this truck for sale I had to have it. A 70 series with 4 doors!! I bought the truck in May 2007 with 142,000km on it and it had been in Canada for one year(brought in by a private importer). Although I loved the truck itself, the PZ was leaving me wanting more. I had trouble with the R151 dual mass flywheel that came with the PZ in 2009 and i repaired it, but new that I had to look for a better fix. I found a 1HD-T for sale in Alberta, bought it, and planned my next move. Sheldon Walsh(70sguy) helped me locate some parts to make it as factory looking as possible and lended a knowledgeable hand when he could find time to head over to the shop(back then i lived in Chilliwack). it took me a year(procrastination and other Cruisers to drive!!) but i got the swap completed in 2011. Since then it has been a blast to drive and the first diesel Cruiser that i had driven that could actually get me movin! The truck has provided me and my wife lots of good road trips down the Oregon Coast, to Moab and just pokin around Southern BC. In the past i have done a fair bit of off-roading in my 40 series, but this Cruiser unfortunately and almost regretfully has been almost a pavement princess. It does get a work out once in a while to get a load of firewood or take me to a trailhead, but has not gotten any serious off-roading. It has treated me very well since installing the 1HD-t with only regular maintenance required.
All mileage references are what is on vehicle at time of replacement unless otherwise noted

Currently 287,000 km (178,000 miles) on truck
Never smoked in
INTERIOR:
Great shape. Dash is solid, headliner is perfect, seats are all 10/10 except driver side has a small showing of wear. Suspension seats up front cushion your ride. Door panels all in excellent condition. Minor scuffs in rear cargo area. Carpet is 9/10.

EXTERIOR:
Paint is really good and shiny. Minor scuffs and chips like any 25 yr old vehicle. Small dent/crease by rear right tail light. Small rust starting on right front fender and rear quarters behind tire. Frame excellent shape with little to no rust. I sprayed the frame, complete underside of vehicle and inside all of the doors with Fluid Film every fall. Needs a new windshield, but i am going to get that done in the next week or two.

2-1/2" Stainless Steel mandrel bent exhuast front to back installed with magnaflow muffler(@170,000 miles) Sounds really nice and you can hear the turbo whistle!!

Rear bumper, ladder, hitch - powder coated black
Old rusty full floater caps on rear end are fake....just thought they looked cool!

Regular oil changes, past 3 years been running Shell Rotella T6 Synthetic
24V everything (except stereo)
Timing belt/water pump (@143,000 miles)
Rear main seal replaced when engine installed (@143,000 miles)
Bottom End Bearings replaced by previous owner of engine
Injectors replaced by previous owner of engine
Glow plugs(Toyota) replaced (@146,000 miles)
5 speed H55F Transmission (has 35,000 miles)
Exidy H.D. Clutch kit when trans installed (has 35,000 miles)
Transfer case rebuilt with Terrain Tamer kit when swap happened (has 35,000 miles)
Bell housing and flywheel from HZ engine
Rebuilt Radiator (@143,000 miles)
New rad hoses
New belts A/C, alternator (@178,000 miles)
Zerostart circulation heater
Rebuilt 24v alternator (@175,000 miles)
