oh, by the way,

i ave already found a good ford 9" axle for the rear, and i plan on building a High Pinion ford 9" for the front. then i'll just throw those axles in the garbage.:bike_rider:

What would you say are some of the drawbacks? Major & Minor.

Also, why should someone choose to build a ZJ vs. a WJ?

Inquiring minds want to know..:coffeedrink:

Drawbacks: Dana 35, early 249 case, and unibody.

Those can each be major or minor depending on how you plan to build the vehicle.

The WJ is more refined than a ZJ, and IMO one of the nicest vehicles Chrysler has ever put out. Very well mannered on the road, still solid axle, and the interior treatments are well thought out. There is less aftermarket support for the WJ's though.

Just so you know, that vehicle had a problem with overheating. The company actually changed the style of the front end in 96 to allow for significantly greater airflow over the radiator.

SO if you are going to go hot places you will just need to keep an eye on it to see if there are any concerns for you.

Hmmm, never really had an issue with my 95. Routinely stays well under 210 even out in the heat in Moab.

JUST BOUGHT IT.

$600 out the door.

just fixed a few minor issues.

I figured out why the AC doesn't work. the clutch isn't activating on the compressor, i think its a fuse or short. i can fix that in about an hour.

the windows do not roll down. again, i'll check wiring problems.

the oil drain plug leaks. i'll fix that when i change the oil to some Mobil 1 10w30

it has 133K miles on it. its black with tan leather interior. i got the original window sticker with it as well. it just needs to get detailed.

Specs:

black
5.2L V8
Rebuilt Tranny about 10000 miles ago!
Tan Leather interior
Original Bose Sterio System
Power Seats, mirrors, and windows
Automatic Climate Control

What a bargain.. congrats on the purchase.

The harness bundle going to door from body is notorious for broken wiring, probably the source of your window problem. My wifes ZJ had this issue as well.

i'll check that out after work tomorrow.

i'll get plates and insurance on it tomorrow.

i suspect i'll be driving down the highway in it Saturday. Needs a quick oil change as well. it even has a husky brand rear cargo mat!

A few ZJ's i saved to my harddrive for various reasons while thinking what i'd like to do.

I like the stance on this one, and the front winch mount/factory bumper cover combination. This guy swapped in a 5.9L.

Again, i like the 4.5" and 33 combination.

I saw this rig at Jeff Daniels Jeep show last year. Beautiful 5.9 that was F/S shortly after. I didnt take the pic but saved it when i saw my son and his girlfriend standing next to it.

This one i like the paint scheme. Mine is white with grey cladding, i really like the "White Out" with a touch of black here.
