For sale is a rare 1998 Provan Tiger XL, built on the reliable Chevrolet Astro platform. This compact, 2WD camper van is perfect for off-road adventures, overlanding, or weekend getaways. With a functional layout and a reputation for rugged reliability, the Tiger XL is ideal for a solo traveler, couple, or small family looking for a unique, maneuverable RV.

Just finished full renovation. Completely Modernized Inside/Out. New Floors. Full Detail (Cut,Polish,Wax) on fiberglass top and exterior.
Never had any leaks, but we went ahead and Re-Sealed outer chassis completely (Windows, RV Door, Side Panels). Normally its stored in covered private garage, but we purposefully recently left the RV in the rain for 5 days and zero leaks.
Seats were removed and full professional detail inside driver/passenger area. Carpets were Shampooed.
Lot's of Brand New add-ons. Custom 10" Touch Screen Android Radio, 360 Camera System (4 cameras), 200 Watts of Solar (Future-Proofed/Upgradeable), Li-FePO4 Batteries (200Ah) (Also Upgradeable),
** 12/11/25 Added - Brand New Champion 2000 Watt Gas Inverter/Generator (Model 100565) 11 Hours Run Time on full tank located in rear.

For those wondering about A/C... There is a custom 12-Volt Air Conditioning system installed professionally underneath the vehicle for the rear cab. It was done this way to make sure we didn't add any height to the vehicle. I like that it is only 101" inches tall.

Engine is running perfect, lots of things done as preventative maintenance. (Listed below) Ready to Drive any distance, and camp-in.
Passed emissions again on 1/6/2026, Registration is Current. Pink slip in hand under my name. Yes you can get it insured, as I have had it insured for years.

Reason for sale: This has been my baby, I've been putting a lot of time and a lot of money into it, I intended on doing a 48-state thing with my gf, and vlog it all for the next year, but life is life, and I have to move to Florida for a moment and I cannot bring 3 cars down there. These Tigers aren't meant to sit and look pretty, they are meant to be trekked so I'd rather someone take over and have some wild new adventures.

Only issue to mention is the Front Passenger door does have to be shut using a little force as it has not been fully adjusted and the side skirt as well as the small panel between the passenger door and RV door can use some body work/paint. None of this affects security of vehicle. Doors can be closed and locked. If you want closer photos of this area, you need to visit the link at the top to "MORE IMAGES".

Inside Height... I'm 5'11" in the video. The back part is 6 feet (72") and the front part is 74" inches tall. Vehicle height from floor to top of solar panel is 101" inches. The length is around 16' feet with custom front bumper but without the rear trunk, or about 18' 6" inches, with the rear. Trunk is removable, it is attached at the hitch.

Top bunk dimensions are: 77"x59"x 20"

All the plumbing has been triple checked. Zero leaks. New seals on Thetford toilet.

Owner History & Title Info:
3 Owners before. Vehicle was in Las Vegas its entire life. No rust underneath, just basic surface rust.

Now, CA (California) Rebuilt Title in my name. I have all the paperwork. Passed CA smog with ease.

Reason for Rebuilt Title: Originally, van had damage to front passenger door, side flashing, the rv door and bottom skirt, NO frame damage. Van Drives Perfectly Straight. The previous damage was minimal but insurance companies love to total out anything these days.

Engine: (All work was just completed done along with renovation.)

Mechanically this engine is running perfect. Anyone that knows Astro Vans, knows that once they go past 100k they usually need some work. This van has had all the work done! This was all by manufacturers recommendations for preventative maintenance:

New Fuel Pump (AC Delco), New Fuel Injection (CSFI to MFI Spider Conversion) Recommended by Chevrolet Bulletin,
New Spark Plugs/Wires/Distributor Cap/Rotor (all AC Delco), New Front and Rear Brakes/Rotors (Van stops on a dime) All exterior lights work.
Engine runs perfectly, tranny shifts smoothly, idles well. A/C blows cold.

Starts reliably and drives smoothly at highway speeds (65-70 mph). I have video of it driving 60mph) Well-maintained since changing of the parts above. All fluids were recently changed.

Appliances:
Original appliances all checked and in perfect working order. All plumbing and propane systems fully functional.
New Microwave added. The Espresso Machine is NOT included.
All the interior lights were changed to LED, they have 3 different color settings and save a ton on the batteries... only draw about 5 watts each when on.

Exterior:
Some fading paint on hood and decals, typical for age. Roof does not have ANY leaks. Bathroom Vents replaced and re-sealed.
Minor dings and scratches. Entire fiberglass top was detailed this week along with the body as well.

In Conclusion:

She is a a sweet rare gem. People will constantly ask you to sell her to them. It has the maneuverability of a van with the functionality of a Class C RV. It’s easy to drive and park, yet offers a spacious interior with all the essentials for off-grid camping. Compared to modern 4x4 campers like Sprinters or new Tigers, this is a budget-friendly option with proven durability. Only a few thousand Astro-based Tigers were made, and this one is ready for its next adventure. If you try and buy a new Tiger, just the fiberglass shell is $150,000.00 Go to their site: https://www.tigervehicles.com/

Includes: Printed manuals, Renogy Manuals, 1998 Astro Manual, 3x Main keys, 2x compartment keys, 3 RV Door Keys, 2 FOBs, 2 Rear Trunk Compartment Keys (I have a whole booklet I have made with everything in it)

Serious inquiries only, please!

It's a nicely set-up rig and Linda Jones would be very proud. GLWS.

(And for the 99% of viewers too new to overlanding to have overlapped Linda's adventures, suffice to say that she made way better use of her 2WD Astro-based camper than most of us made of our expensive tough-looking four-wheelers. She was important and inspirational in the early days.)
