Just wondering if what the experience you have with vinegar and outgassing? Has this worked for you in the past?

My wife and I purchased a new TempurPedic mattress for our home last spring. The mattress outgassed pretty seriously for the first week or so. I found the vinegar tip online as a recommended solution, so I gave it a try. It seemed to absorb some of the odor. It may or may not work for you, but it's cheap enough to try.

Thanks! I'll give it a shot. I like the avatar by the way!

Cutting back into the the camper this weekend to get rid of the outgassing materials. Next weekend is the suspension upfront and hopefully in the rear.

What about drilling holes into the areas that are wet still, and then going back and filling them later?

Thought about that and decide against it for a few reasons. I feel like I have spent so much time on this project due to trial and error that I just want to remove any possible chance of out gassing in the future.:snorkel: I also feel like the filler that I had mixed with the wrong ratio will not ever set. There is a small area that I filled on the outside that is relatively thin, which has not changed one bit. I will feel more comfortable in the end knowing I removed all the questionable filler.

Completely understandable. I'd do it that way myself. Good luck!

This project may be a wash. :( Spent this last weekend grinding and cutting back into the fiberglass on the driver side leaving the L brackets in place that held the 4runner rim to the camper. The off gassing stench was super noticeable even after almost all the questionable fiberglass filler was removed. I'm going to throw one more weekend at it. The next session will involve a more fine tooth removal and cleaning, along with a smell test. HA. My hope is that after removal and washing the area there wont be any more stench and I will feel comfortable with glassing it again. I was just thinking this last weekend, when covered in sweat and fiberglass, that I really could have got some great camping in using the ground and a tent.:) So as of right now its a toss up on things. I hate giving up on projects and it would be a sad story but on the other hand I need to go see some epic wilderness. I'll know more after I give it one more go. Anyways, just venting a little.

Everyone on portal knows how hard you have worked on this project. I know you can resolve this. There is a solution.
Take a break, pack up your gear and take a quick road trip detour. If your girl doesn't have a car, rent one for the weekend and go enjoy yourselves.
You have come too far to give up.

Thanks Austin. Going to pick up another hardtop right now actually. Give the flip-pac a lil breather. Long travel IFS this weekend so that will a nice step forward.

Don't give up man. I'm about to start kicking off on mine, as soon as the weather cools off a bit. 108 is no fun to work in while covered from head to toe to prevent fiberglassitis.

Yeah I know I know. Ha.
Speaking of heat, this last weekend was a scorcher in LA. Not as bad as out there in Bakersfield. The heat combined with grinding and cutting that fiberglass was a bummer in its self.
