I'd say that unless there is lots of sloppy play I'd run them. Did they run dry?

no sloppy play at all and they wore not dry as well. Like i mentioned the one boot was split only for a week or so and there was still plenty of grease in there however it was more like a thick soup then grease it was runny so for sure very old. There was no knocking while turning or anything. my plan is to put good grease in there I have " lucas x-tra heavy duty " grease so it should be good my guess. I got the boots already so I will finish them up over next few days ( in my spear time as the job thing is stealing precious time from me to work on the truck ).

If it happened within a week and you have manual hubs the axles shouldn't have been turning and therefore the overheating shouldn't be a recent occurance. However, I would've expected more greas to be seeping out of the torn boot. Either way it should be fine with new grease and boots.

Im thinking it should be fine as well axles are back on with new boots and there is no clicking noises so far. I wish I could put manual hubs but this thing had all-mode-4wd and from reading about manual hubs I can't install them with this system.
