so I have dig in in to my front and for the first time did good inspection on the brakes as before I did just look at the thickness of the pads and they look good and I found out that one of the brake pads was worn out not evenly.

You can see that the pad is thinker on top compare to bottom. Whoever did the last service did a butcher job as my left brake line was twisted and on both calipers lower sliders wore seized completely and when I was trying to get them free the slider just broke off ( you can see the part in the picture as well ).

So as this was repair I was not planning on. the budget growing to wards other stuff was spend. I had to get new calipers and make everything working properly as these are BRAKES we talking about so I decided to get new calipers ( rebuilt ).

I have seen many of you guys put new shiny awesome rotors ands pads and that was my next step but instead I got new calipers and new pads as the rotors are fine for now and that would be done sometime next year. I'm glad that the knocking started in the front as this made me to look at everything and I found seized calipers. Better do it now something I was not planning to do, then found out one day going downhill that my car is truly unstoppable :) and I would end up in the ditch like dose pick up trucks from the picks.

As everything was out apart I also repack the front bearings with new Synthetic grease.

Just before I started putting everything back together.

With the knocking I did put new grease in to my sway bar control links and I that shut them up for now :) ( they wore out when I was replacing struts and I did inspect them and they seemed to be fine but maybe they wore never off road ). Also when I twisted my tie rod end left to right that are very easy to move ( not tight ) so that will be for sure replaced as well.

On the good note I did get for out 4by tool pouch/organizer thing.

Today i have done something that was on my mind for some time. When going for trips I always put some sort of tarp or bl;anklet in the trunk area to easy clean ups from trowing firewood or just protect from general mess and we do have a dog as well carpet is always hard to clean. In the future I will build a storage platform but for now i need access to rear quarter panel to do some fixing in one word RUST, so for now i can't do my dream platform so I went to local parts store ( princess auto ) and got 5 feet of garage floor liner that is what they called it and cut it to size and now I custom trunk liner for $25 bucks and its a good grippy rubber so it will even keep stuff from sliding around :)

sorry for crappy pics from the phone

When i have more time I will make it prettier but for now we need the car to go camping and for now its function over fashion.

Looks good, I had the original Nissan all-weather rubber mat before I put the storage platform in. It was great to catch small spills etc and quick easy clean up.

Good idea. I should do that for my cargo. Couldn't you use a heat gun to mold the rubber around the wheel well and tuck it under the plastic sidings?

I was thinking about that but had little time. On the week days is little time to tool around as you life and all and we are going camping this weekend and I just wanted to have it done before we go and as i mentioned I will build the storage platform so didn't wanted to spend to much time on it. It was mostly to replace the tarp that I was using with something better and I totally get what you saying it would be so much better molded and out under the moldings and stuff. Plan is also to put same stuff on the floor in front and rear and hide all the carpet for easy clean ups I will try the heat gun molding then :)

oooo shiny

I should have gotten a bar similar instead of the duallys I ended up with

I was originally planing to get spot duallys as well but I couldn't find the good spot ( for spot lights :) ) to mount them so went back to the drawing board and I had to wait longer save more and get this bar. I'm hoping it will fit in the upper grill between the lights so it should be roughly same height as my high beams. I will do before and after picks to compare the light output.
