Don't forget currency exchange, shipping and custom brokerage fees. USPS is usually better than UPS/FedEx

My brother buys his ARB suspension stuff (OME) from Northridge4x4.ca

They are located in Alberta and have free shipping above $100

So past few weeks i was busy putting the truck together as my better half needed to truck to go visit her family and its about the time to start driving the thing around and see some stuff.

Allof was asking about pressing in the bushings in the arms. I did make few attempts to do it in my garage using a wise but that went no ware and if i would keep trying something bad would happen. I do have an access to 20T press so i went with that option. I think it would be to hard to try to press them in without the press and on the wise gravity was working against me trying to line up everything. So if someone would decide to change the bushings instead whole arm it would be advisable to make sure you have access to a press or go to the shop and get someone press them in. I used a ratchet strap ( idea that i have learned reading stioc thread ) to align the arms and they went in no problem.

I was working overtime to finish the truck and do everything as best as I could. Working after work on weekdays till 1 and sometimes 2 am. At the end all workout good there are no leaks from all the seals that i have changed so im happy with that :)

I found this little tool box thing on sale so that was a score now i can have all the tools that i need for work handy right next to me.

I did paint the struts to protect them from rust as my rear shocks ( crappy Monroe for now ) already have some rust and i put them on last year in August. Since i was painting why not make them look good. Now i have a pair of fake OME shocks ( i went with yellow as i just like the way it looks )

This is how I put the spring compressors on the struts to change them in case anyone wants to know where to mount them.

I did paint with rocker panel paint all inside the wheel wells for protection and preventing more rust.

After putting in all new stuff and belts and the scrubbing the front of the engine looks good

Now the bad news. The problem that I have is that my truck will not idle. One day it just quit and now I have throttle cable adjusted so it will idle but i need to still find out what is wrong and make it run properly.

New Idle Control Valve.

IMGP0045_zps7b94db66.jpg

I already put a new MAF sensor and new Idle Control Valve. I was on the forum reading a lot and I hope that my ECU is not broken as that could be a cause as well. So over next few weeks I need to follow FSM best I can and see if I can fix that. It could be the PVC valve as well and that little sucker is buried deep and that would be a lot of work to find out if its working properly. The engine is throwing P0505 code that is for Idle control so im assuming that ECU is working correctly but maybe im wrong. Its a bit frustrating last year the truck was awesome and that that little bugger dose not let me sleep now :coffee:

On the good side with new struts and bushings plus the spacers the truck drives great :wings:. Huge improvement from what it was and that was money well spend and time. This weekend we are going for our first drive around to see things explore the area and go for some hikes so i will post some pictures after the weekend.

If you guys any any input or questions always welcome :)

Cheers

Last weekend we went for a little one night camping trip ( 500km round trip ) and we had a great time :) ( well maybe except the mosquitoes ). Truck performed great ( well maybe except that my exhaust decided to split in half and that ended trail exploring and now i have to put it back together yes it was rusted ).

Finally few pictures that not involve pieces of the truck from repairs im sure that in not that interesting to look at.

Our campsite by the lake :)

Few pictures from the hike and from some trail road that ended at the lake ( that was when my exhaust broke i guess after that little rough ride and ended my exploring :( )

Looks great! That's a lot of work you're putting into the truck, I too have to do some proactive maintenance stuff. BTW, what did the ICV cost? I also have had the same intermittent code as you ever since I cleaned my throttle body. Interestingly enough after ignoring it for almost a year it only comes on once every few months. Like my last trip of about 600 miles, no code (I have a scan guage in the truck so I know right away if there's a code and what it is).
