2002 Ford F-150

I don't know what is the matter with me and cameras, but I can not seem to get around to taking pictures.

Anyway, we took the F-150 and Flip-Pac to the Owhyee Country in southeastern Oregon this past weekend. Long story short we ran into thunder storms and lots of muddy dirt BLM roads through the desert-like shrub steppe. Set up camp in the rain and put up the rain fly for only the second time...and glad we did. It poured that night and we slept completely dry.

My son-in-law slept up top on the built-in mattress (double bed size) while I slept on the lower, home built bed (single bed size). I bought a 2" memory foam mattress cover for the upper bed and it together with the mattress that comes with the Flip-Pac made for a comfortable sleep. I originally planned on using an air mattress on the lower bed, but the day before we left on our trip I bought a 6" foam rubber mattress to keep me comfortable.

I will post pictures as soon as I get some.

Hey, another F150! I've got an '03 that I'm sloooowly getting into proper Expo form. Great looking ride!

Nice rig! I'm also waiting some interior pics!

I have an '02 F150 w/the 5.4 myself (but the 5 lug version) same cab/wheelbase.

I have my Jeeps for my wheeling/hunting/solo adventures, and now (after reading through a lot of ExPo threads!:coffeedrink:) I'm thinking of fixing up the truck for family adventures!

The wife isn't into the heavier wheeling I do, but she loves getting out for some scenic adventure. I think the F150 will work great for that!

The size and tread have worked good for traction so far. But, they are noisy, louder than the 12.50's I have run on other vehicles. I have run BFG MT's in 33/12.50 and 35/12.50 previously. And for some reason when on pavement I can feel a vibration from the tread flexing when starting off from a dead stop and also slowing down to a stop. I thought it was something mechanical at first and finally discovered it was the tire tread.

I don't really need MT's on the truck and before buying another set I would shop around for an aggressive AT tread...if there is such a thing in that size.
