Well getting additional fuel capacity for a gas engine certainly looks to be a chore. As this would be a flatbed the tank needs to go below. The Titan tank would be perfect, 51 gallons, but listed for diesel only. I would guess
that the connections and opening for the fuel pump are different sizes than for the gas engine? It would be great if this tank could be repurposed.

Was the 5.13 to maintain towing capacity?

Thanks for the link on the console. interesting that they use HDPE. I will keep them in mind.
I love the console. It's one if my favorite features of the truck.

Another option may be the rear fuel tank from a chassis cab. It takes up the spare area but you mentioned that you didn't necessarily want to mount it there.

I mostly use the truck in town when towing but I do plan to eventually do a fummins swap one of these days.

The 5.13s are a LOT of gear. I know why it was chosen, but I'd really like to drive a truck with 4.88s and 37s. But good luck finding that setup locally. But I'll have to regear if I ever do a Diesel swap, so not worth the effort at this time

The carli suspension is great when pounding offroad. It is pretty harsh in town. I'm not changing it, but expect 3.25" of lift in the front with the 2.5 springs.

If I was building your setup, I'm a Carli dealer now and have done a few systems since buying this truck, I would be shopping the backcountry 2.5 setup with the resi fox's and the 4.5 full leafs. The kings are big bling, but they're literally overkill for anything under medium pace desert driving (where they work phenomenally). The 4.5 springs have the same amount of travel as the 2.5 leafs, but with the additional front height from the gas engine weight and your static load of the flatbed and the camper it should sit similar to mine (currently sitting ass-low so this is the kit I'm switching to). 4.5 leafs also allow the long travel air bags to be added if you need them.

Yes that center console would work well for what I need / want.

There is a small aft tank that ford uses for the short wheel base chassis cabs, typically used for tow truck bodies. That might work, and would be DOT approved presumably?
There is no getting around this being a long truck. When I plan this out I think about a 7 x 9 x 22 box and trying to keep everything inside of that. Parking, access to national parks, camping spots, trying to meet the dimensional restrictions as best as I can. The departure angle on the CCSB and CCLB are @ 18 to 19* in stock form? A 35' spare may fit, maybe not a 37' wheel, and I don't want to be dragging it. Adding it to the back adds length, I thought of putting it in the cab, the rear bench would come out anyway for storage. With the weight and dimensions of a 35' or 37' might be easier to wrestle it out of the rear cab.

37x12.5-17 Toyo MT its about 2.5" under the hitch but behind it

Also, I emailed Aero tanks this morning. But I'm not in CA, so CARB doesn't apply

Thanks for the pic! If you installed a flatbed, and were not towing, would you see an improvement in your departure angle without the spare installed there?

As far as I can tell this model year version was max 4.30. I accept that I would have to regear. If I found a truck with 4.30 I would think it had a history of towing.

I though the same thing on the Carli. Would be more than adequate for this size truck and what it would be used for. I'm not looking to do 70 through Baja at 12,000 lbs.
I do like the articulation that the Deaver can provide. Nice thing with the FOX 2.0 can always upgrade to the Kings. Air bag and the Daystar cradles also possible.

I like my bling / farkle but a full on Carli setup gets up there quick.

Well, you have to have some kind of bumper, but unless you're rock crawling, this tire won't "drag" enough to be a problem.

The rear is squatting now, and I cant afford the 4.5 leafs yet so its getting a 4" block temporarily. Factory block is 1-⅞ so it's not a huge change. The weight of the spare, topper, OBA system, Water tank, recovery gear, and my tools for chase duty; plus any camping gear/food/equipment/trailer makes mine stinkbug pretty bad. I really want it level-ish so this is the solution for now to make sure I like the height. As it sits with my normal loadout its 1¼" nose high.

Thanks for all the feedback. Looks like it comes down to whether the spare gets replaced by an aux tank. Hopefully a positive reply from Aero tanks.

Doing an engine swap will certainly change things around on that suspension.

Both the PSD and the 24v 5.9 weigh about 500lbs more than the v10 (according to the internet). So that's certainly a factor. But it's easy enough to play spring swap in the front and shackles in the rear afterwards. There's a bunch of different PSD coils out there to make it work.

Did you ever get a reply back from aero tanks?
