Ok, I was going to wait till I picked it up but I am so excited I am going to post now. I had a 2006 Lexus IS250 I was trying to sell or trade to get a vehicle better suited for family travel and back road camping/exploring. I sold my Lexus last Sunday and as soon as I got home went and checked out the WK I wanted to buy. I will be picking it up in the next couple of days, the current owner is on my local jeep club and needed it a couple more days because his 3 month old had to have heart surgery yesterday. It is a 2005 Grand Cherokee. It has just under 97,000 miles. While I wanted a Hemi I went with this one with the V6 because it has a lot of things I want to do already done and I honestly don't need the Hemi though it would have been nice. It already has a 2 inch daystar lift, Surco roof rack with shovel/axe mount on one side and hi-lift jack mount on the other. It has two lights rear facing on the rack, Borla exhaust, hypertech programmer, ARB on-board air compressor and tank with air fittings mounted in the front and rear bumper, and 2010 Rubicon wheels.
I plan to get a laptop stand to mount my Panasonic Toughbook. I have a MR350P GPS puck I will use with my laptop for navigation and trip planning. I plan to get a Tuffy center console with radio din to mount my uniden 996XT scanner. I will also be installing a HAM radio once I get it, I am currently going through a HAM class and will be testing next month. Not sure how I am going to mount it yet. I have not decided if I am going to build a drawer system or a smaller cabinet on one side for storage. I will also be adding lighting on each side and front. I am sure there will be more than that but that is what I have in mind right now.
I decided on the WK Grand Cherokee because it will be comfortable enough for our road trips to visit family and capable enough to do some mild off roading and exploring. Pictures coming soon!
