Any where between the supercharger outlet and the intake is a good place for the boost gauge hookup. The closer to the intake the better, as you can lose some pressure due to plumbing, although not very much. I dont know about on the Tacoma sc's, but on the MR2 there were a few spare nipples on a elbow that I plugged the boost gauge into. A mechanical gauge works fine but to make things easier a electrical gauge would be ideal.

I would stick to a electric sender for the oil, fuel, and any other liquids. If you have the plumbing going into the cab and it breaks open you'll have one hell of a mess.

yeah I wouldn't use anything else other than electric for fluids. I'm going to do some digging on getting the boost gauge to work. Start having a look under the hood and at the supercharger on where things might plug in.

Here is a transmission fluid temp gauge set up.

I'm still hoping scangauge II will have tans temp with their new feature but they are having problem with Toyota's code. The trans temp setup looks like a lot of work. I'm too lazy. :bigbossHL:

I have a scan gauge II right now. I plugged it in once and that was it. I have allot to do to the truck before Baja. Just waiting for the garage to warm up.

If anybody is thinking about getting the Lotek gauge pod for the 05 Tacoma.

DON'T BOTHER!!

It's a pile of $%^&, Gauges don't fit properly and there tolerances are way too tight for the gauges. I've tried a couple other styles other than the ES series and same thing. Can't get them straight in the pod because of tolerances.

Very Poor Product!

any update on boost gauge?

Well I got a couple of individual gauge pod mounts from summit, and now I'm just figuring out where to put them.

well at the moment I'm doing a gear change in the truck. 4.56. and an ARB RD111 locker in the front, so I will have a RD121 for sale.

need to catch up on my list of things to do. Too much to do for one person.

That's a big "to-do" list. :yikes:
Sweet setup.
What RPM will you be cursing at 65mph/105kph with 4.56 gear?

I've worked out that at 75 MPH the RPM will be around 2515 in 5th gear with a 285/70/17 tire. only about 300rpm more than the stock 265 65 17 / 3:73 set up which was 2202 RPM @ 75.

Did the calculations with this.

http://www.grimmjeeper.com/gears.html

worked really well, but seems to have a problem now. (Tried it now and no problems)

410 gears would bring just a tad higher than the stock set up , but a figured a little more gear wouldn't hurt when towing and wheeling.

4:88 gear is 200 more RPM. I think TACODOC is going 4:88?

I'm also in the proses of re-wiring my tipple battery system for the new Blue Seas distribution box. I have a new Cobra 75 WX ST CB & FT Yeasu 2800M & Lowrance Baja 540c to finally hard wire to the truck.

Install 3 new gauges.

Install URD MAP/MAF Calibrator and tune the truck @ the dyno for the final HP numbers.

4 new Soltek Lights arrived today to replace my aging Hellas.

New rear bumper/tire rack by Armorology. Driving to Colorado will be fun :) spending a week, bumming around the while the bumper gets made. Next year though!

EXO cage and roof rack - next year

removing the old electric fan and replacing with the new flex a lite 480 dual fan.

It my sound like I'm complaining, I'm not :) its just allot of work.

If my garage was bigger I could put the truck in and start but it's my commuter/work truck too, so it can't be down for very long. I do most of my mods on holidays.

When you decide to head down this way, let me know. My current budget won't let me stop at Armorology but I'd love to see your truck. I'm about 10 minutes away from them.

Yeah weight is becoming an issue, but I know the bumper will be fairly heavy, but the exo cage I'm looking into chromoly tubing to save weight. Its about double the price, but the weight saving is quite a bit with an exo cage/roof rack over a big double cab long bed. Its still in the works though.

Sounds great to me! I'll have some time to spare as they make the bumper.

We can hoist a few:beer:    and I can check out Colorado Springs.
