2006 E350 surf/moto/camper build

Seats to the L track. I have L track in my van as well and might be able to do something similar.

Studs from Amazon. Here is the link. http://www.amazon.com/Track-Double-Threaded-Stud-Fitting/dp/B0163FLPQS/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1453782814&sr=8-1&keywords=l-track+studs They are a no-name brand, but sold by a somewhat reputable seller, so I felt confident with them. They do their job, and seem to be made of nice steel. Going to swap the nylock nuts out with wingnuts thought I think, to make it even faster to take the seats in and out.

Waiting for Tax return to come in to be able to buy material for the interior build. Want to get this thing going before summer gets here. Also, I want to get the rack mounted up on my van, but can't find many mounts aside from the Smittybilt ones. I have a PrinSu rack, any recommendations on gutter rack mounts? Thanks

Definitely going to look into the JcrOffroad mounts for another project, but member primitive has hooked me up with a great deal on some what I believe are Smittybilt mounts. Stoked to get the rack mounted up.

So I finally got my roof rack bolted up with some JCR Offroad mounts, along with a rear step bumper that I picked up for $0 from forum member Ohpyramids. So stoked on that. Parts are compiling for my interior build, so hopefully I'll get that going in the next month or so.

Hello! I was curious if you still had this van and if so what your thoughts were after all this time of having the black roof. I am contemplating doing the same sometime in the future because it looks sick and is super versatile, but my concern is it getting crazy hot. I’m going to do insulation on the ceiling inside but I was concerned it won’t be enough. I’ve checked out this thread many times and thought I’d pick your brain. Thanks!

Hey man. Scrolling through old messages and I just saw this. I sold the van, but it didn't make it super hot, at least I didn't think so. I have since sold the van, and have a 2001 F350 now, but I did the same thing to that roof as well. Let me know if you have any other questions, I'll try to get back sooner.

Cheers,

Tucker

No worries. Thanks so much for getting back to me. It looked rad so I think I’m gonna do the same. Really appreciate hearing back. Did you do anything cool with the new F350?

I'll start a build thread for it soon. It's been in our family since 2003. I bought it from my dad two years ago and have been bringing it back up to standard since then. Rebuilt front end, new Fox 2.0's with adjustable remote reservoirs in all four corners. I have a Callen camper on it that I need to build out, done a few other things too, but I'll put it in the build thread when I get it going.

I am, and I'm not proud of it...but I got a great deal on it, and it will work better than the Yakima bars I was going to get. Don't always like the look of racks on vans, they make them less conspicuous and more of a target, but this one should be easy enough to take on and off if needed. I'm sure Prinsu could make a rack specific to vans, they could probably modify the 80 series Cruiser rack to fit without changing much.
You might want to disconnect the turbo hose and take a white handerchief and check for dust in the turbo inlet. K&N's don't do a very good job of cleaning the air. I had an AFE for a short time and after washing, re-oiling and holding it up to the light you could see all the pinholes.
