2007 FJ Cruiser build up (Layonnn)

I have been looking for another great forum that was an expedition style. ExPo fits everything i was looking for. I spend a good bit of my forum time over at the big FJ cruiser forum.

Here is my 2007 FJ Cruiser 4x4 auto. Most notable features it came with from the factory are the rear e-locker and A-TRAC.
I wanted something to use as a daily driver and about once a month take wheeling. The terrain in South Louisiana is mostly dirt, mud, some hills. So, i built the FJ to accommodate these conditions.

Stage 1
The humble beginnings with my pooch, Beau.

OME lift

285 BFGs

Pooch and ARB Rockrails w/ skids and ARB added.

Blacked out stock rims

Added some IPF 900XSD's and Warn M8000.

Stage 2

Some new meats: 34x12.50r16 Super Swamper LTB's mounted on 16x8 Rockcrawler black steel rims. If you have never ridden on a vehicle with these mounted, they are LOUD driving down the road. At about 15mph, it sounds like they are rubbing body panels, but then at 20 that sound turns into a steady humming.

After the tires, i needed a way to air them back up, so i picked up this Source air tank from TRDparts4u and then fabbed up a piece of aluminum to mount it to. Still looking for a good fire extinguisher to mount adjacent to the tank.

Next up on the list was some more power and a dual battery kit (oh an i have a TRD intake that was installed 2 days after the FJ was bought). The supercharger was a long install. I ran into a few things. The intercooler pump is supposed to be mounted in the front but the ARB and Warn are in the way. So i had to fab up a mounting spot, use the dremel to make room for tubing, fab up some tubing, relocate some stuff.

(oh yeah, during my trip to Katemcy Rocks near Austin i installed a snorkel. No pics of that install as i did it mostly at night while we were camping)

Finished up with the dual battery running an Optima yellow top as an auxiliary. I am not the best electrician so i purchased a dual battery kit (minus battery) from DirtyParts, INC.

Here is the switch to the solenoid that i custom fit into the dash (this is where the gas tank release lever is on 4runners)

Some of you might hate this mod, but my father owns an auto upholstery business, so i can get leather at dealer cost and then use their tools and know how to install.

My obligatory towing out a jeep pic. I believe this was this guys first time out wheeling in his new 4dr JK. Nice guy. His kid in the back seat looks frustrated that his dads jeep is getting pulled out by a Toyota though, haha.

Could you please tell me what the red plastic plate is that is in the front of your winch fairlead?...

Is it some sort of protection against the hook damaging the fairlead when rolled in?

Where do you get them from?

Drivers seats do...passenger seat it is an 'option'. I'd take a ride in one before making that purchase...they aren't the worst seats in the world, but aren't the best either imo. Josh is always complaining about them on long trips, and needs to have a pillow tucked back there for more lumbar support...I didn't think they were that bad until I started driving the 4Runner around, and wow! What a world of difference!

They are a relatively new product (Just the last few years) If you do it right it folds your winch hook in across the piece of urethane and you have no winch cable exposed and the urethane sort of acts like a cradle for the hook and a stop for the line.
