In a 16 in tire there aren't many opportunities to get taller without getting significantly wider unfortunately. I run the 235 85R16 on my 2001 Xterra, no complaints with the size

I've noticed that. I'm just going to hope that the 265/75 tires still look proportionate to the new height and go with them. I like the width of my tires for my truck, but I do like the skinny look on your Xterra!

thank you

the best option really is 255 85R16

most measure out to just above 33 inches, and are dead on 10 inches wide (less than a half in narrower than what you are running)

From my limited knowledge of the new Frontiers and Xterras you should not have any issue running 33s with a ~2inch lift

The only issue with the 255/85 is that it is mostly a MT size and they're all heavier load tires than I really need. I found a Dayton Timberline A/T tire in that size, but it isn't quite as aggressive as I want. Any suggestions?

It is limited in AT selection, however one of the better ones comes in that size. Cooper Discoverer ST. Its a similar tread pattern to the BFG AT

(that is the Canadian site, careful you don't catch anything :sombrero: )

I also believe the Toyo M55 comes in that size

I really like my Toyo Open Country MTs in the 255x85r16 size ... spendy, though. IIRC, the Maxxis Bighorn MTs are also available, and generally slightly cheaper. Though, I remember reading that they're also softer than the Toyo MTs. The M55s and Discoverer S/Ts are both supposed to wear like iron, so that may offset some of the cost; if you can stay on top of getting them to wear evenly. I'm also intrigued by the Trailcutter that was talked about in one of the 255 threads within the last day or two ... hearsay is that it's a private label manufactured by Cooper for Big-O, but I didn't get any concrete confirmation of that from what I read.

If you keep them wearing evenly, you should be able to get 40k out of the Toyo MTs; and they air down well (for an E load tire) ... I've got no complaints about noise or winter traction, either. They're on my '08 Xterra, for whatever that's worth.

EDIT - Here's the link for the Trailcutter discussion (starts at post #60): http://www.expeditionportal.com/for...-Tire-Official-List?highlight=255+trailcutter

Here it is! I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Please forgive the crappy iPhone pics, I'll try to take some after I clean it up this weekend when the weather is better.

Thanks, guys! I'm really pleased with how it turned out. Nitro - you'll love your truck, I definitely love mine!

I forgot about these few mods I did, LED reverse lights and license plate lights:

One LED, one incandescent:

Two LED + new license plate lights:

I had trouble seeing at night in reverse with the tint and stock bulbs, so I had to upgrade. My license plate lights were both out, so I figured why not upgrade them at the same time! I actually had intended to do my cargo lamps as well, but apparently you have to drop the headliner to access the bolts to remove the light assembly, so I decided to just leave it alone.

What Arkansas has a DFG license plate with a black lab on it? very cool! Just looked on your state website and you can get a DU, DFG Black Bears, Crappie, Ivory Bills, and Turkeys also. Now I'm jealous.

We have several custom options for license plates. I wish we had a chocolate lab plate available - I'll be getting a male puppy in a few weeks, but I guess I don't mind rocking the black lab consdiering I had one for 13 years growing up. I was torn between the mallard and the lab, but I am not a DU supporter, so that made my mind up pretty quickly!

Looks awesome man!

Thanks, I'm really pleased with how it turned out!
