Hey ya'll,

Just wanted to officially introduce myself to the Nissan section of ExPo as well as my new (to me) Nissan!

This gem is going to be delivered to my house Thursday afternoon:

A 2007 Frontier CC NISMO with ONLY 20k miles! It's a southern truck, starting life in Mississippi, then eventually moving to Little Rock.. I'm getting a really great deal on it and can't wait to get started tinkering with it.

I plan on a small lift (1.5-2"), an ARB with winch, and maybe a few other goodies. Nothing crazy - this is my DD. I had an Xterra Off-Road for a while, so I'm excited to get back in a Nissan and see what kind of trouble I can get in to!

And the Frontier will be replacing this:

I've enjoyed my 3rd gen 4Runner, but I am really excited about the 80 hp increase over the leisurely 3.4L!

Thanks for looking!

Will

Nice Truck, Will! Congrats, You already know it'll be great.
Smooth color and low miles!

Yeah Russel, the NISMO comes with the 4L 6 and things like:
rear e-locker, skids, larger AT's, alloy wheels, off-road susp., etc.

I was looking for an 09+, but I found this one with the ridiculously low miles for significantly less so I decided I can live with the less fancy a/c controls and Pro-4X kit. I'm really excited.. it will be here tomorrow around 1 PM. Not going to be able to sleep well tonight!

Kuma - looks like you'll be the one to talk to when I get ready to mod.

Thanks for the congrats!

Cool new truck! I rather like the Frontier. I'm a fan of mid-size pickups.

I picked up a 2008 GMC Canyon with only 14,000 km on it earlier this year.

Hooray for good deals on older low mileage trucks!

Ha, ha. I hear ya. If you haven't already check out clubfrontier.org .
LOTS of knowledgeable folks there and SOME are even willing to be helpful.

Peace, ~Ben

Yeah I've actually been a member on CF for years! I've shopped just about every midsize truck and SUV on the market so thankfully I'm not completely green to these trucks. Thanks for the heads up, though!

I'm thoroughly enjoying this truck. The previous owner took INCREDIBLE care of it.. I've yet to find a defect. The spare BFG Rugged Trail tire still has the sticker on it from the factory!

So far I've had the front windows tinted 15% to match and had a matching brow installed:

I also scored a Valley Class IV receiver hitch off of Amazon for $96 w/free shipping. Got it installed this week as well as the Nissan trailer harness:

One of these days I plan to was it, clay bar it, and wax it to get it ready for our typically rainy winters. I'm also trying to decide on a lift. I don't want to do anything crazy as this is my DD and only vehicle, so I'm thinking something in the 2" range so that I can keep the stock tire size for fuel economy without it looking goofy. These tires are 32" tall (265/75-16), so they're plenty large for my needs. Any suggestions? I think an ARB with a winch will also be in my future, so I need to consider that as well. All of this will most likely wait until after I finish my MBA in December, so I have some time to plan.

So to recap: truck is awesome, I should have gone with a midsize crew a long time ago, and I'm looking forward to getting out there and seeing the country with it!

Check out the OME stuff from Nisstec. That is what I run on my X and I love it. It's the perfect balance between being too rough and too soft.

I'll have some updates this week. I'm having a ReadyLift SST level/lift kit installed on Thursday. It is 2.5" in the front and 1.5" in the rear. I don't do anything extreme that requires a lot of flex (and want to do this on a budget), so this type of lift should fit the bill for me nicely. I mainly want the truck to look a little more like a 4x4 as it sits low in its current state.

I also need tires. I had an almost new set of Cooper Discoverer A/T3s on my 4Runner when I sold it (I messed up and showed the guy what it had on it before I knew my truck had the same size tire on it). I'm thinking about going with those again, but am open to suggestions. I want a good A/T since I spend the majority of my time on road. I was planning on the stock size of 265/75-16 so that I can get as close to the 22 mpg it currently gets on the highway as possible. Any suggestions on other tire sizes to consider that won't hurt my fuel economy too badly?

I'm stoked.. pics on Thursday!

285 75R16 is almost an inch wider and just over an inch taller (32.8ish)

if you wanted to keep the same height, 235 85R16 is narrower and the exact same height as your 265 75.

Benefits of the narrow tire is in shallow lose mud and sand, snow etc, higher contact pressure (same vehicle mass, less surface contact area).

Some don't like the looks of a skinny tire though, and they are usually only available in an E load rating.

In a 16 in tire there aren't many opportunities to get taller without getting significantly wider unfortunately. I run the 235 85R16 on my 2001 Xterra, no complaints with the size
