Forgot to mention, I took my rig in for the warranty department to look at it. They said everything looked fine other than the right front strut. They only replaced the one, and now it feels different. Would replacing only one strut instead of both cause it to sway or bounce around on the interstate?

Yeah, I have a rule if your replacing one, replace all, because 1 is new, and will react differently than the other 3 that are getting close to end of life. I would spend the money and replace the other three very soon so they have close to the same milage on them. No, the pat that is ordered does not have the FD II package. I really didn't want it. I don't like the cvt transmission and after driving the 6sp version of the pat I know why! We don't need the low range in the trans. I am going to add the rest of the FDII package to ours, skids, high current alt., trans cooler, etc. Its the wife's rig first off so we are not hardcore off roading in it. But we will use it to goto our cottage, and explore at times, so I am building it for that. Plus, they look ************ done up!

I also noticed on ebay a set of LED/HID projector headlights for the pat as well. Probably our first upgrade. Lighting is real important here. Add the RRO front bumper setup and we are going to get a set of IPF 968 with a 55w HID conversion. With all the moose on our highways, We want good lighting. I like the idea of the 968s reflector and I am excited to try them out.

Yeah I completely agree! I am definitely going to replace the other side that they didn't change. I will have to wait on the rear until I change out the springs. Now that you say that about the transmission, my 2010 is supposed to have the 5 speed cvt, but the other I used the manual shift and there was 6 gears. I know they changed to the 6 speed in 2011 so I am wondering if I have had my transmission replaced at somepoint with the 6 speed or if jeep started putting them in the late production 2010's.

Lighting is always the first thing I think about as well. We have a lot of deer, not quite as damaging as a moose lol but never fun to plow into...unless you like grillin fresh roadkill lol. So first I went factory fogs, next will be some of those 4×2 round tuff leds for the front. They are extremely bright and very cheap.

yeah, Lighting is very important. I am putting in yellow halogen fog bulbs into my stock fogs, I have this done in my JK and it works awesome, then with the 55w HID in the 968s I should have a great beam of light. I have a set of 55w HID in a halogen 500 driving globe and they are awesome. So I figure the 968s will be close. If you had your trans replaced it would be with the cvt again. Just because they don't use it, don't mean the don't still have a large supply.

Were the cvt's 6 speed? I thought I read something that they introduced the 6 speed in 2011.

Kojack, I found a set of 02-06 renegade wheels on craigslist for $150

I am thinking about picking these up, and putting 225-75-16 on them. Just wondering if you know if 225's will fit ok on the 7 invh rim, and if I would have any rub with them? Also How much does it usually cost to get rims powder coated?

Thanks man!

Hey,

I left you a message on the other site about the wheels. pc would be about 75 bucks a wheel if they are not requiring to much prep. But they don't fit correctly.

I will probably go with the quadratec rubi wheels. After the $150 for the rims, $30 for 5mm spacers to clear the front calipers, then $75 to powder coat each of them I could just buy new rims that fit.

Thanks man.

Im not sure why jeep wouldn't put these on all of their automatics, but a pretty sweet little upgrade for $25.

I also got a new owners manual. The last 4 vehicles i've bought have been missing the owners manuals...what people doc with them is beyond me but its definitely a pet peeve of mine.

Got my other strut replaced today. Man such a difference when both of them are changed as opposed to one lol. Now she treks straight and smooth over bumps!
