Adventure Time!
Last week we checked out the Winnebago Revel 4x4.

Of course, I brought a tape measure. Was really surprised to find the ground clearance is only 12" and exhaust is only 8" above the ground. Compared to our 14" ground clearance. Our turning radius is 47Ft vs Revel 43FT (really similar considering the sacrifice of interior space). Revel 20 gallon fresh water vs 63 gallon. The roof can only accommodate 510W solar vs 920W. The “garage” area is extremely tight and would be difficult to fit two mountain bikes and sleep inside (platform would need to be raised). And then the price... MSRP over $163k. Best discount I could find was $117k. Plus, you get a complicated diesel emission system (no Mexico travel).

They are really cool. But it’s big price tag for what you get. Especially since the 4WD is more of an AWD with open differentials front/rear. I still like them but seems it would need another $10-20k in upgrades to gain similar functionality/capability to our Winnebago View. Definitely better for a weekend rig than extended travel. But a hefty price for weekend fun!

Is it a Mercedes Sprinter or a Dodge Ram chassis? The ram on the grill and the 3500 on the doors look like Ram branding.

Dodge Ram used the MB Sprinter chassis till 2010 or 2011 and branded it as Dodge.

Ok. Thanks for the info. I did not realize Sprinters were sold under different brands.

I am passing this along to a friend who is in the market for a rig. GLWTS!

Would you mind sharing/ballparking the suspension upgrade cost? Thank you! Regarding the Dodge badge, body comes over in one crate engine in another to avoid the “Chicken Tax” then dodge-Freightliner put there badges on for putting it back together. Respectfully

It is around $7k.
You are absolutely right... Until a year ago. Now Mercedes is building vans in the states.
