2010 Tacoma Waiting for its New ATFP

LSS : My wife talked me into a new longbed Tacoma last week while I was about to finalize an order with Adventure Trailers for an ATFP.
The plan was to put the FP on our Tacoma Offroad shortbed truck
.....inspiration courtesy of "TacoDocs '05 Tacoma SB Flippac Build".

We came to the conclusion that the longbed would provide more room for our family with the ATFlippac. Not much arm twisting required by me as you might guess. A couple days later a white 2010 Tacoma LB 4WD was sitting in our driveway.

I swapped the full OME suspension, tires and rims over to the new rig (from the old rig) and gave a stock truck back to the dealership in trade. Also removed were all the important pieces of equipment from the old truck ( OBA, OBW tank, AT can holders, console vault, etc...) to be reconfigured on the new one.

Everyone here knows what a stock Tacoma 4WD looks like so I'll spare you the "before", and show you the "after" photos.
Now she's just waiting for the new ATFP (late April) to hop aboard and let the build madness begin. To be continued.......

Should have swapped the rear axle while you were at it for the locker :D

Just out of curiosity, did you consider a Tundra as well when you were looking at the longbed Tacoma?

I did consider the rear axle swap, but the used car manager at the dealership was already raising an eyebrow with me keeping the trade in vehicle for almost a week while I swapped suspensions, wheels, and tires.
He wasn't as agreeable to the trade when I mentioned the rear axle swap too.
I'll have to put an ARB in it down the line.

I didn't consider the Tundra at all. It just seems too big, I don't tow a big boat or trailer anymore, and the price tag was around $8k- $10k higher. After wheeling a SB truck for so long the Taco longbed is going to be enough to get used to.:smiley_drive:

Curious to see how that long truck works for you..I love the concept of having 4 real seats and a 6' bed, but is it hard to park, and moreover how is the long wheelbase on-trail?

On the trail yes it can get long. Daily driving mine has been a breeze. I whip in and out around and otherwise in parking lots... Yes with a bit of discretion.
I'll bet you won't notice the extra 13" in two months..... I just put 3.25" in the front and dakars with the XL spring in and she does have a nice rake...
With the 12+ inch snowstorms we've been having I absolutely LOVE :wings::wings: the 255/85 KM2's also installed. Now if I could just get the time and correct weather pattern to install the All-Pro bumper..... Maybe this weekend.... Rob

Looks good. Just throw on a set of Bud Built skid plates and some sliders and the long wheels base will be a less of concern. I lived in Pullayup for a few months back in 2007 and I miss one of the best sushi restaurants I have ever been to.

The extra length isn't a big deal on the pavement, but the jury is still out on her maneuverability offroad. I'll just have to take some different lines.
An ATFlippac is the next big investment already in the works, and trail armor "is" high on the agenda, but way on the budget back burner for now.
