I'm in Mendenhall, work in Whitehorse.

Septu, were you parked at the library yesterday (wednesday) on the gravel lot to the south?

Dools, that wasn't me. I'm always parked behind the old DQ.

Where are you guys? I'm in Whitehorse, but currently Jeepless.

Dan, dump that POS Subaru you own and get a jeep. You might recognize my old jeep...

Or this one... August last year after paddling on the Takini... :D

After two and half months of waiting, I finally got to take it wheeling!! Had a blast. Got stuck twice... once when the "bridge" failed (I use the term "bridge" fairly loosely). Clearly our engineering skills need some work. And once when I got cocky and tried to go really slow while locked... yeah that doesn't work so well when you need speed to get over the ice ledge.

Here's a pic of the bridge fail. Decided that 20k into the bush was far enough and went to find a spot for to roast the hotdogs before heading back into town.

Well made my first road trip with the JK. 540km drive up to Dawson to go camping for the weekend. All in all had a blast! Here's a couple pics:

230am waiting for the ferry. Oh how I love the summers up here with the never ending daylight.

Little guy was just hanging out on the road (I assume soaking up the heat). When we stopped, he walked a few feet into the ditch, and just hung out until we left, where he went and laid back down on the road.

Nice man, I didn't realize you bit the bullet on a 2012. Are you happy with the auto?

I'm eagerly awaiting the diesel in the GC, to see the potential of swapping it into a JKU Rubi.

Yes and no. I love it for some of the DD aspects (merging with traffic, passing, etc) and while wheeling. However I do miss driving a stick from time to time.

Two trips last weekend. Here's a couple pictures.
Down Annie lake road, then up the mountain (no clue what it's called). Crazy steep grade. And surprisingly still some snow up there

The snowman I couldn't resist building.

These are from Montana mountain. Not much wheeling as it's all old mining trails, but it was my first time up there (not last - going again this weekend)

The new limb risers worked awesome...scared away all the limbs...

LOL. I didn't post the one picture, where the trail was barely a quad trail. I was really missing my side/door panels from Pat at that point, but was more than happy with the new limb risers. I also love the look of them.

New headlights finally arrived. After breaking the glass ones while wheeling (hot glass and cold muddy water do not mix), decided it was time to get the HID projectors. Also picked up a set of used Vision X fog lights. They don't work too well as fogs, and I get flashed a bit when I use them... but thanks to the new HIDs, I'll never really have to use them again. Not a big fan of the boob look, but they're so effective that it more than makes up for the appearance.

BB doesn't seem to take a decent picture when I have the lights on. But have the perfect cutoff with the step. Projectors are from HID Projectors and cost $420 for the basic kit with the upgraded ballasts and them putting them together. That includes me sending them my old lights. They do have a DIY kit, but labor was only $100 extra, and I didn't really want to tackle that. So far (after only one brief rip) I think they're well worth the money spent. Especially as I needed to replace the headlights anyway.

Now to start saving for the front bumper and winch.

Not too much new to report... bumper has been ordered (LoD Midwidth, with a custom bullguard). Chris from LoD sent me a few pictures of it (hasn't been painted yet). Winch (10k Engo) should be arriving around the same time as the bumper. Can't wait!!

That is a nice bumper. So many of the JK bumpers are monstrosities. That one looks like decent protection while not being overbearing. Great pics in the thread too. Beautiful scenes.

Thanks. Bumper and winch get installed tomorrow!!

Sadly the skid plate didn't get shipped. Chris at LoD said he'll have one shipped out tomorrow. Will post up some pic's once I pick it up.
