2013 Phoenix Pulse CS POPUP for Toyota Tacoma EVERY OPTION PRICED TO SELL

Maybe if Phoenix took the same responsibility for issues with it's campers the way FWC does, they could have made it right for the customer and gained respect for fixing it and gave potential future customers confidence in a purchase. As it turned out, I'd bet they lost a lot of sales instead.
X2.

I don't have a horse in this race. But when Sioux and I were looking for an upgrade for our 2012 Hawk we made the trip up to Denver, met for several hours with Rob and Cari and had extensive emails back and forth. Nice people and super accommodating. I liked that. In fact, I still have the floor plan of the Phoenix flatbed camper I was totally ready to order from them drawn out full size on my garage floor. I literally was going to send them my check that week.

Then I stumbled across the infamous myTaco thread. It wasn't just the one unhappy customer. Things can happen. But as a prospective client I have one overriding need, "Please, I want a no-drama transaction". There was just way too much drama from waaaay too many Phoenix customers. So I stepped away... without bashing anyone my guess is others did too.

Steve

PS So we've just been enjoying our Ram 2500/ Hawk combo for the last year and now have ordered a new FWC Hawk Flatbed for our Ram to be delivered in October. Do I miss the design flexibility and wide option list that Phoenix offers versus FWC? Absolutely. But when I analyzed my 2012 Hawk purchase I realized it was a routine, almost boring, dependable "no drama" transaction. I like that- a bomb-proof four wheel capable camper. :)

Larry, Had I known my gender was an issue, I would have disclosed upfront. Sorry. That being said, in my 26 years of service, I deployed four times, to include during the first Iraq war. I started researching TCs upon my return from Afghanistan. In my enlisted days, I was a SERE instructor--meaning I had to complete all of the schooling to be chosen to teach survival skills to other military personnel. Hopefully that will add some to my credibility as a WOMAN, Larry.

On that note, I would like to also state that I've only reported how my (former) TC worked out for me. Others have chimed in too with their experiences--some good and some bad. I was upfront with Rob and Cari about how I was going to use the TC-- the entire goal was to road trip across the U.S. They held themselves out as experts in the industry. Ironically, the TC. didn't even hold up for highway travel, so expedition quality use seemed odd from this maker. All in all, I have moved on--and very happy that someone has found a use for it, and that I now have a reliable unit. I wish the new owner nothing but positive experiences and memories with his (her?-- or does that really matter) new TC. They have certainly received a better TC than the one I initially received.

Gender is not an issue and never was an issue. Congratulations on your Service accolades. Thank you for your service. If you haven’t already done so, joining irv2.com is a great place to complain about DaimlerTrucks having regen issues, CAC’s loading with oil and issues with Leisure Unity house issues. Enjoy your new camper

I love hearing Americans complain about freedom of speech!!!!! It's the INTERNET!!!!!

4 tours anywhere gets you the right to say what you want!!!! SHE deserves to speak freely! .... and Larry arguably she helped make it so you can say what ever you like.

I said it once and I will say it again .... If a company can advertise like phoenix does on the web .... Their customers should be able to post their experience about the camper.

Agreed, but there is a fine line between Freedom of Speech and just going on a tirade, unfortunately many of you can't tell the difference and realize what you've read is only one side of the story. I have no way of knowing both sides either but working in the vehicle manufacturing industry in customer service role I can assure you there are always three sides to every story (End user/Customer, dealer/Mfgr and the truth)

One observation I've made over the years of being the guy who represents an auto manufacturer in product litigation is, on the occasion a “problematic” vehicle is bought back or trade assisted that VIN is resold with warranty (and discloser of previous litigation). More times than not that vehicle is never heard from again without another single hit in warranty however, if you monitor the customers habits they will continue to have “issues” with future vehicles and seek the same legal route rather it is BBB, mediation, or whatever. I've seen that in WI and CA where they have aggressive “lemon laws”. About 2 years ago my company had a customer seeking buyback on a Class A coach. Come to find out he already had a Jeep and a VW product bought back. In the end, the RV case was thrown out because of that. It will be interesting to see how the Leisure Class B works out for MyTaco. Hopefully, it will be satisfy her every expectation and not surface with any issues that cause her stress. In looking back how her deal was handled, no talented lawyer in the world would advise a client to go on a tirade bashing a company on any social media in which the client has an issue with while seeking a resolution or even if a resolution cannot be agreed upon. Perhaps, it would have been a cleaner deal if both sides would have just hired lawyers handle the disagreement and keep their Freedom of Speech rights under control in an effort to keep the lookie lou's from rubber necking and forming strong opinions based on one side of the story that probably cost a few sales. Yep….'Merica! Lots of people fought hard to have the screwed up country we live in.

Topic is done….let it die

I have absolutely no complaints about the new Leisure Unity. Just got back from a 5700 mile road trip without a single issue. Very solid and well built unit. Sorry to disappoint you in yet another unwarranted generalization.

Just bought a 2015 Toyota Tacoma, TRD Off Road and am looking for a pop up.

Not a fan of long waits so "new" is off the table - life is much too short. Got cash, ready to roll if, like Paul B says, "It ain't red".

How about some pics?

I just joined this portal to answer your ad.

Skibo, do some research before pulling the trigger on this type of purchase. This forum is a good place to look around.

I surely don't have any desire to enter someone else's flame war zone, so suffice to say I have no problem with the color red, per se.

Enjoy your new truck!

Here are 2 seperate posts from you in the SAME thread. "Look hero, posts 2 & 3 instantly started making suggestions back to that train wreck thread as did post 6 so don’t start with me about moving on until everybody drops it and moves on" or, "Topic is done….let it die" . Which should we do? MYTACO seemed to go out of her way to make it clear she wasn't bashing Phoenix. She just wanted customer service after forking over a ton of cash on a POS camper. On the other hand, you seem to going out of your way to emotionally defend Phoenix Campers. I crossed Phoenix off my list after reading this thread. Thanks, MYTACO for your service and Larry, I'm glad you are happy with your camper.

I too WAS considering a custom camper from Phoenix. I decided that my current camper (SunLite Skyhawk SB) did everything I need it to, and also met my wife's needs, would do just fine for a few more years.

I've got no dog in the fight, but if/when I decide to get a new camper, I'm pretty sure than Four Wheel Camper will get my business. From what I've seen/read, their customer service is superb. I credit my opinion fro reading Stan's post's on this forum.
