Doing fenders? Stock springs out back? Upgrading to 3.0s (I may know a buyer for your 2.5s :victory: )?

Sticking with the stock fenders for now. Might move to glass fenders at some point in the future, but well see how the stock works out and how the rig progresses... As for the Kings, Im keeping the 2.5s for now. I am planning to upgrade to the 3.0s sometime in the future, hopefully sooner rather than later!

How are you liking the King coilovers? Considering getting a set for my 2013 Sierra. Why did you end up going King over Icon and what model Kings are you running?

As for the photos, I'm not sure what's going on. They show up fine on my phone, but I pulled up the page on my work computer and they're not showing up. I have been using google photos the last few months since photobucket is such a pain in the a**. I'll look when I get home, maybe it's some sort of permissions thing, anyone have suggestions? Really odd since the same photos show up fine over on the Overland Bound forum...

Well I finally got the mid travel kit set up! Ended up being a lot longer process than I had hoped to get it all here and installed, but it turned out well so far! Haven't really gotten out into the dirt too much, but did get a good test run in last Saturday on the way to a spring couloir skiing mission. Definitely a limited sample, but so far I am impressed with how it is performing. It was a tight, low-speed mountain road with a ton of loose rock, but it really ate up the dips and bumps in the trail. Didn't have to slow down in spots I normally would have and certainly could have comfortably carried more speed through them. About the tight part of the road, the only downside to the weekend was almost ripping off one of the new fender flares on a boulder in a tight spot in the trail. Thought I was clear, but apparently not... Damage seems pretty minimal overall though and I'm just glad I didn't snag the actual fender any!

Getting out for a long weekend trip for Memorial day so hopefully I can get in a little more testing , and hopefully some better photos too! Here are a few bad phone shots for now though...

Awesome update. I like where this is headed. Is the track width up front now wider than it was originally? How is the on-road performance?

Edit: Any reason you went with Baja Kits over Mazzulla? I saw on overland bound that you were considering Mazzulla first?

Thanks! Yeah track width is definitely wider. The kit is supposed to add 2.5" per side, plus the new rims have less backspacing so that makes it a bit wider as well. So far on-road performance has been better than I expected. I can definitely feel a bit of a difference, but it really isn't that much. Maybe feel a bit more sway in turns, but really not as much as I was kind of expecting.

As for going with Baja Kits, it pretty much came down to price/practicality. When I first started looking into it a couple years ago I definitely was thinking Mazzulla. I think they re-did their "mid-travel" kit a year or so ago though. The new one looks amazing and I like the ability to add a second bypass shock in the mix fairly easily. However, it was a little bit more expensive. It was also a bit wider and I was under the impression that I would pretty much need to go with glass fenders which I did not really want to commit the time/money to yet. I also got really great service from Baja Kits when I was looking into it this spring and took advantage of a sale and just went with it...

That's great feedback. I have been a big fan of Mazzulla since I owned a '99 Silverado and wanted the full long travel treatment. I think the Baja Kits setup will serve your use perfectly. Is the track width up front now wider than the rear?

Yeah Mazzulla makes some great looking stuff! I don't think you can really go wrong either way, I haven't really heard any complaints about either one. I think the Baja Kits mid travel will be perfect for the off road and on road driving mix that I need right now.

Right now I am running spacers on the rear to even out the track width (I believe they are 2.5"). Eventually I would like to even out the track width in the rear with a wider axle set up, but that is down the road a little bit. I usually try to stay away from spacers, but I don't like the front being obviously wider than the rear. I think the front may still be a hair wider than the rear, but its really hard to tell.
