2014 Chevy Express Cargo EB Duramax Build Sofa / Bed help!

Hello everyone out there,

I'm in the process of building a 2014 Chevy Express for mostly weekend getaways, the wife and I are always on the road come Friday afternoon heading to climb, bike or hike. I bought an extended body so I can have a bed and a place to keep our bikes inside when we go climbing or hiking and have to leave the vehicle. I never liked the idea of leaving our bikes on a bike rack (which I did). I've been digging through google trying to find a good solution for a bed setup, my idea is to have a bed sofa I can put length wise behind the driver seat so we can use it for people traveling with us and when its just us a bed.

I was about to purchase the Qualitex Dutchess sofa bed until I realized it is only 68" Long, I'm 5'10" and my wife is 5'3". I called www.shop4seats.com and they said they don't know how, but people buy the 58" ones to sleep on. So I started looking else where and came across rdcomponents.com, they offer 76" sofa matress but its only 42" wide and its not able to be used in transit.

Are there any sofa beds out there that people use to sleep on and use as a bench for seating when in transit that come recommended??

I am in a similar boat - Almost same height issues. The one though I had was to build a little stool sort of thing that was the same height as a deployed bed. This would get moved into the isle to give the outside person a little more leg room. The alternative was to just build a slat bed or diy jackknife couch to the dimensions that worked for us.

Thanks for the response, I think that's going to have to be the answer, use the Qualitex Dutchess Sofa bed with a leg extension, that way I get the metal frame that can be used in transit and with the extension better for sleeping. Thanks!
