We've owned three 2nd gen Tacos since they came out in 2005. We LOVE them and we LOVE this truck! My wife and I are expecting our first child soon and on to something with more room for our growing family. Otherwise this vehicle would not be leaving so soon.

i can personally vouch for the quality of the build on this truck, no expense or attention to detail was spared in its creation. someone will get a very nice truck that will be ready for anything you wanna do with it. with or without camper--its a winner

Wow, thats a perfect Taco setup right there. I also liked the blue one you sold in the past. Just wondering, any reason why you didn't add the spare tire, storage box and rear bumper like you had on the blue one? I so wish I had the money saved to buy this complete setup ready to go. GLWS.

Thanks for the kind words. Personally I think swing-arms look a little funny on pick up trucks. On the blue truck I wanted to go all out and never considered NOT adding the rear bumper. But on this one I found ways to build-in its functionality rather than carry/buy more. For example, rather than carry my full size spare on the swing arm I found a way to carry it in the stock location not only saving money but keeping the center of gravity lower than bringing that big heavy spare up higher. Same with extra fuel - rather than carry jerry cans I had a long range tank installed. Same with storage - found other places and ways of carrying the same gear. End result is the truck is lighter, cost me less, less expedition bling of a look and still get the same functionality as I did before. I could see replacing that chrome bumper with a proper All-Pro version but leave off the swing arms. This is just me and where my years of building up different rigs has landed me today. Everyone has a different approach depending on their needs so do not want to come off like I am knocking the rear swing arms; it just wasn't' necessary for me.

cheers

Congrats on the sale, and thanks for the detailed response. I was wondering from a practical point of view the reason for the change. Makes total sense to keep weight low etc. some day I will build one of these so I appreciate the contrasting info from both trucks.
