2015 Honda CRF1000 ADV Bike??? (maybe)

Honda has been beating the automatic/DCT drum more than any other MC manufacturer. It makes sense for the scooter/commuter/beginner bikes, but if they don't offer a standard, I wonder how much that will turn off potential buyers?

if you think about the average buyer i think they'd like an auto. and with so many "dirt" guys installing rekluse ect. i dont think it will hinder sales too much.

I don't know. Yes automatic cars outsell standards in the U.S. by huge margins, but almost all MC buyers are enthusiasts that have already crossed the learning curve. I've never once heard someone I know complain about having to shift.

I can't imagine them not offering both options.

I have road several bikes with Rekluse clutches and it was nice in the very tight stuff. Standard transmission has never bothered me any where else.

i agree with you,, but i was also referring to the ADV bike market, not the MC market in general. the "new" and rapidly growing adv bike thing is really all its own if you think about it. kinda like harleys, the majority of buyers in both categories are middle aged w/e riders who wont go anywhere.

Perhaps, and the people I know do not constitute a wide sample set, but to a person, everyone I've talked to has hated the idea of the DCT and said they would never want a mc with an automatic. I don't know how successful Hondas other DCTs have been in the US compared to the manual models.
