Got any pictures of that front bumper installed? I seen one back on page on but was not sure if that was your Jeep or not.

Hey Haficon, that's probably the one of E1's nice setup...one of the rigs I've been drooling over for this build. I actually just talked to E1. They haven't sent it to powdercoat yet until I make a decision on the rear bumper. I was looking pre SEMA at the trail swing away tire bumper, but they're finalizing a sweet new design as we speak. Should be ready for public consumption in a week or two, so holding off on the order till I can see this new, Gen 3 design, then they'll ship them together.
As an aside, I just received confirmation from Northridege4x4. They're shipping out the big order in the next few days!
On tap:
1) AEV 4.5" RS lift kit
2) Hutchinson Rock Monsters (x5)...matte black
3) JE Reel 1350 front and rear drive shafts
4) Gobi Stealth rack w sunroof add, 2 ladders, expedition one brackets and ARB awning mounts
5) AEV corner gaurds
...A few other odds and ends, but those are the big ones.

Have a bunch of Baja Designs LED stuff en route as well as Tire Rack sending me 5, 37" BFG KM2's. Need to find a shop that sipes or bite the bullet and buy a siper. I want to run these year round...road and dirt...beach etc, but I hear they suck on ice and hard packed snow....unless you're willing to sipe them, and I am.
Not sure if I'll need spacers to push the wheels out to keep from rubbing at lock, but don't want them popping out too far. MA sucks for tickets and wheels sticking too far out of fenders.

Thought this build would take a year or two, but I'm too psyched...looking at a month or two!
Will have to put off the axles and the RTT till the summer at the soonest.

Sounds great. Maybe you can stop by one day I would love to check this thing out. Sounds like the only thing you are missing is an Expo Trailer.

There won't be a heck of a lot to check out until the lift, bumpers, wheel set and rack actually gets put on. Everything is sort of in a holding pattern until the bumpers drop. Probably mid December at the earliest, but if you're still local, sure thing. Almost definitely not going to be a trailer in my future, though. I'll be happy to just be self contained, grab and go with this one...

I really like your MORE dual compressor mount. I don't believe that bracket was out yet when I bought my setup, and it makes the dual compressor a viable option for Jeeps IMO. Past installations that I've seen for the ARB dual compressor have been under the passenger seat, and that just doesn't work for my needs Getting that compressor under the hood is a really good use of space and I can appreciate that.

I agree, was in the same boat as the dual compressor wasn't even out when I bought mine. Never liked the under seat option due to the noise and heat! Those ARB compressors get hot when they are running!

Odds and ends today...
Well, I realize it's not the exciting stuff, but still waiting for those drop shipments from Northridge4x4.
In the meantime installed the Vector Offroad JKE Dock. Love it. It is the perfect solution to keep things secure and mounted where they are up high, in easy reach for readability and as an aside, keeps me from turning my new jeep into swiss cheese with all sorts of drilled holes!
The Ram mounts are for a Garmin GPS 62stc loaded up with 24K topos, a Samsung Note 4 and a Samsung 10.5 Galaxy Tab S. The Tab will be running the Torque pro app via the OBDII bluetooth relay, specific topos as well as a bunch of Photography related stuff like The Photographers Ephemeris, my Camranger remote trigger apps etc.
There's a Gopro with a Ram mount in the mix at some point too. Also installed and hot wired the Cobra 29lx. Waiting to get that fully tuned and up and running until I get the rear bumper from Expedition One with the ant mount. 4' Firestik II ready to go...

Can you share the size of the u-bolt on the oh-******* bar?
Nice setup... I have the 1/2 JKE dock.

Hey Bluehash, It's the 1 1/4" U bolt listed here:
http://www.rammount.com/CatalogResu...82065077045083085050053049050085/Default.aspx
Two sizes of "U" bolts come in THIS kit: http://www.rammount.com/CatalogResu...82065077045066045050051049090085/Default.aspx which I purchased a few of. I used the larger bolt. I wrapped the threads that are closest to the bend in the "U" in small pieces of Gorilla tape to protect the silver plastic grab handle insert and the handle itself behind...its a tight fit and didn't want the threads to gouge stuff. Even so, It was required to spread the bolt a wee bit to get it all the way down, then vise grips to close it back again to get it through the ball mount section. It was really tight to get the nuts started, but when all was said and done, I liked the result....simple, clean enough and out of the way of an exploding air bag (Hopefully never have to test that theory).
Very happy with the JKE Dock....

Another option for front dash mounting to mention……..

I saw Lord Al Sonora (in his build thread) install one of these replacement passenger side grab handles with a RAM mount ball on it. It makes for a clean installation, and you can get one customized.

My only concern is that I would rather a passenger bash into the stock plastic/rubbery handle than a hard aluminum bar in the even the seatbelt failed or was too loose? But I still haven't ruled one out.

Maybe throw a roll bar pad on it? for safety. in OD Green.

Took my son over to BDR Automotive in Holliston to chat with Brian about the build. He has some pretty cool Land Rovers over there...
The plan is mid December for the lift, driveshafts, wheels etc (waiting on the Rock Monster beadlocks). I'll toss the AEV corner guards and Gobi on when the rest of it gets here (I got one ladder today). Hopefully will have both bumpers here from E1 by Xmas, and I already know there's going to be a Baroud RTT "under" the tree this year :)
Now to look into axle options and underbody protection...

So, here's what I'm going with for axle solutions. A bit over the top for this style of build, but it will allow for a true dual purpose rig that can deal with, well...anything pretty much.
Why new axles as opposed to reinforcing the existing, "Next Gen" D44's? Because churning 37's with a jeep projected to weigh right at 3 tons (or just shy) NEEDS this if I'd like not to get stranded with lots of gear and kids and dogs. In general, it'll be just us out there...or me, and Im not gonna be happy to abandon ship due to snapped axles or bent C's or...you name it... with all my photo gear in this thing...
...and yeah...I'm going to at least TRY and claim this build, at least partially, as a business expense. Landscape photography selling so well for me....or something ;)

Front:
Pro Rock 44 Unlimited housing:
ARB Air Locker
4.88 Gear Ratio
Dynatrac Ball joints
RCV Ultimate Axles
Synergy Weld on Track Bar Bracket
(and Syn. tie rod, JKS adj. track bar F and R)
1350 yoke
Reid Racing Knuckles

Rear:
Pro Rock 60 Semi Float:
ARB Air Locker
4.88 gear ratio
1350 Pinion yoke
Synergy Weld on Track Bar Bracket.

The rear (and front) is more than adequate for the Jeeps weight, it's uses and unfortunately for the state I live in, the essentially stock width requirements meets the needs of this build as well as DD duty.
