I have one on my truck. I dump it out every time I do an oil change, and it usually has a bit of gunk but nothing that wouldn't otherwise be fine getting recirculated into the engine. I would say because our trucks are naturally aspirated, it really just comes down to wanting one or not. If you had an ecoboost or supercharged F150 it would be another story all together.
The EB guys love them lol

I dunno. I've known a few people with EcoBoosts and they never did it. They aren't forum guys either. So probably never heard of a catch can. I'm guessing they're millions of F150 drivers that don't llok up their vehicles on forum and that also have never heard of a catch can, lol. Also read Ford changed the Eco's in 2018 so they aren't really needed anymore.
Oh yeah for sure. There are millions of automobile owners in the US who are blissfully okay with their car just the way it is, since it's little more than another appliance to them. But if you're on a forum then you probably have a bit more interest than the average joe.

True, I do have more interest than the average joe.
But still not thinking a catch can is something I'd add to my truck after I've done some reading on them.
I'd rather spend my efforts encouraging others to spend their hard earned money on modding their trucks... :ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO::ROFLMAO:

So, what's a catch can? Is that like the bucket you drag behind a Harley to catch parts as they fall off?
An oil catch can is used to filter and catch the excess oil before recirculation. Its other goal is to prevent oil mist or vapour from reaching the crankcase, which is known as blow-by. Blow-by is defined as the loss of compression as it leaks past the piston rings into the crankcase.

Catch cans aren't required on the Gen 2 engines. I have over 80,000 mi on mine without one and a co-worker has about 160,000 on his and it also is without a cat can.

Upgrade time!

Upgrade my windshield? That counts right? Had a chip that turned into a 2 foot crack so had it replaced.

Also bought a RiGd Ultraswing from a fellow member so I’m stoked on that. With the exception of not having a matching spare, I love it. And it makes my wife happy getting the spare out of the garage. Came with a front runner table. Going to get a back up camera relocation kit and a license plate relocated. Thanks Lex!

Bought a speedometer recalibration thing that plugs into the OBD port. Haven’t done it yet but I plan on re programming the computer for my 315 tires and 4.56 gears.

Pics because I know how you guys are
