Had I known about the website you showed earlier, I probably would have got them there with my underhood light. They are BRIGHT however.

Thanks! Just researched it as good as I could, and used what I thought appropriate.

I used Rotella T6 on the 5K oil change. It was fine, but after researching it some more I will be using the recommended oil from Cummins from now on. I just figured if they were the ones that did the research on it initially, and they build their engines with that oil in mind, who am I to argue. Seems well enough for me. Especially with the extended service life filter.

I looked for a set of just Fleetguard fuel filters, but honestly it was easier and cheaper for me to get the Mopar filters in for the fuel system. I will continue looking, but if I can continue to get them for this price, I will likely stick with them.

I bought my oil and engine bay fuel filter, as well as an air filter, from Genos Garage. They have a “filter maintenance” package that is a very fair price and comes with 4 oil and fuel filters. Where did you get yours?

Then I buy my water fuel separator and in line Cat filter from whoever has the cheapest price online.

I’ve found Walmart to have the cheapest price on T6 consistently. They even have it cheaper than my father in laws whole sale price, he owns a few shell stations and a fuel supply company, which isn’t that significant but it’s worth dealing with Walmart for the $20 bucks or so savings IMO.

Topper lights look great! FYI genos garage is the place to go for filters! They also have a finger to inch drain valve that works great and you get no mess, fumoto makes it, I put a small hose clamp around the lever so there’s no way anyone that knows them could drain the oil without a tool. I’ve been running them for 13 years, can’t say enough good about them.

I run 15w40 rotella in the summer and t6 in the winter... no one has rotella cheaper than Walmart.

I bought this one:

It’s insanely fast, allows you to change the oil when it’s hot, and is extremely low profile which is a bonus when off roading.

I will check them out. Nice that they have a package to do it all at one time. I've been getting my filters from a diesel mechanic shop that sells filters for Cummins and Cat for years. Not super expensive, so I really haven't cared much to look elsewhere. Now the Mopar filters were pretty spendy, but I plan on taking him the filters to cross reference.

Thanks! I think they are plenty bright as well.

Not 100% sold on the quick drain valves. If it was something I did more often I probably would. The only thing I plan on doing is buying hose extensions for the fuel drains. Was FUN today draining. :sneaky:

Finished up the 10k mile service. All looked well, and the fuel filters were indeed ready to be changed out. I will finish by rotating the tires tomorrow and greasing all the fittings/checking balance and alignment.

Dude take the whole water separator filter off before you take the sensor off. Way less messy that way.

Yea... Live and learn. One would assume all the diesel would be out from the drain valve. But nope... about a quarter cup left if I had to guess. Wasn't terrible, but wasn't a clean change out for sure. Everything else was easy in comparison. About the dumbest place I could think of for a filter. And to think people actually pay money to put another one there in the same location.

Yes and genos garage sells a special wrench for it that makes removal easy

I have all the proper wrenches and tools, but next time the entire filter housing will come off, then the WIF sensor. It wasn't terrible to pull the WIF sensor first, but there is still a small amount of fuel left in there that can not drain out fully.

I don’t even drain the engine fuel filter. I just take off the top, pull the filter, and drop in the new one. Way less spilt fuel that way.

I actually paid to put another filter by the water separator. I can not tell you how big of a pain in the D it was to install. I haven’t deleted yet so the dang exhaust was slap dab in the way. Many curse words were yelled that day.

********!!! I bet. That was all I could think about when I was pulling that filter. " People actually pay good money to put another one here". I bet that was a royal PITA to install! That HUGE muffler/emission wizardry thingamabob is right in the damn way. :ROFLMAO:

Ugh, I tell you what. I wouldn’t recommend it to anyone unless they’ve been deleted. Or if they travel to sketchy areas with bad fuel.

I regularly fill up from my equipment tank at work, which I’m sure has all sorts of crap in it, so the additional filtration was a welcome addition.

I had a CAT filter set up on my old 5.9, I think the new multi stage nanonet fleetgaurd filters, which filter down to 2 micron are good enough. I think I would go with an air dog or FASS if I were to go that route again.

Yes they do, service is awesome also! I just bought some of their led fork truck lights I’m going to mount them as backup lights. I can’t say enough good about this business, they will get your order out quick and have great prices, I think that bulb you want is $5.
Have you had a chance to mount the backup lights? I may get them as well, if they do the job,my underhood Mopar light came in this week,so I will be ordering their light for that too. I am also thinking about getting their light bar,as my sPOD came in this week.Thanks.
