2019 Ford Ranger Taking Orders

TPMS is terrible. It's winter here, so I only have 55psi max in my tires. Have to deal with a giant orange obama light until I get FORSCAN.

And it takes a while to get from one end of the campground to the other, I don't need my belts for every single errand.

At least the new traction control works better than an LSD, almost makes up for it.

I live in Houston so no winter to worry about.

Buddha.

Finally in expo white.
Now that I'm on winter tires the stupid light will be on until April because i didn't want to buy an extra set of sensors.

Believe Jeep is one of those vehicles you trade back in before the warranty is up.

All of those electronic nannies look annoying.

Interesting, let's see, almost 80K on my 2013 JK, it's been to the dealer for 2 small issues. Our 2016 Ford Escape Platinum AWD went to the dealer so many times under warranty in the 2 years we owned it, we dumped it.

Hope the Ranger is better quality but my faith in FORD in at an all time low. I sat in the the new Ranger at the LA Auto Show, and it's what you'd expect, nothing new or earth shattering there. The Gladiator on the other hand was very impressive and had a much bigger crowd around it. Just my two cents, YMMV!

Then don't get the plat. And the Escape was supposed to be a junky consumer car.

Oh ok, that solves everything! Platinum has nothing to do with it. The entire air conditioning system had to be replaced, door latches failed, the windshield leaked, a fuel valve failed leaving the vehicle disabled, and there were a variety of other odd noises/problems. Point being if you want to discuss quality control it's apparent the company has some issues. I have always liked their trucks and have owned a couple over the years but this last experience left a bad taste.

Tfl just released EPA numbers, the ranger matches the duramax economy in the city, and close on combined numbers, better that all other gas motors. Its close enough on torque I dont know why you'd get a diesel.

I am used to Toyotas...at 80K they are still considered new. Wouldn't hesitate buying a Toyota with 100K on the clock, and proceed to put another 100-150K without much issue. A Jeep or Ford would be very leery owning one out of warranty.

Have some friends with JKU's....cool vehicle, but build quality is a little so-so.

I usually have all the bugs worked out by then.

But I'll never buy a jeep or Ford, used, ever again. Really any American car used. Just buying other peoples problems.

Kinda the same with Toyota. People won't take very good care of it just because it is a "Toyota"...and then demand a premium for it.

Everything on a super reliable japanese sport bike will be completely wasted on used bikes. People run them into the ground because they're reliable. But service intervals are the same as an Italian bike. Difference is, the red bike won't run right without those services. Same idea.

I have a hunch that the new Ranger will be a quality product. Ford is known to make junk when consumers ask, even beg, for junk. (Explorer) But this time around, Ford might be serious.

Toyota is bleeding bad, Nissan is olde, and GM offers no warranty. There's an opportunity in the market here.

Yep.

Same here, the Ranger looks good so far. Be nice if there were different engine options. Like a NA V6. Not real fond of turbos for the long haul.

Yeah Toyota has been resting on its' laurels for too long...maybe with all the new competition they'll get off their butts, but doubtful.

Was following a Colorado briefly today...how did those rear shocks and low mounted spare tire make it into production? If they can't even address a simple thing like that...what other problems are looming?

Nissan could re-energize their midsize if they would bring the Navara here. Not sure why they haven't.

Just read something from the head of Nissan NA about Nissan updating one of their trucks by 2020. If they do 2020 should be pretty interesting for the 4x4 market. Bronco, New Nissan, Ranger back, Rivian. diesel Gladiator and all the usuals.

What a time to be alive! :D

EPA ratings and real-world #'s don't always match up, especially with the ecoboost's.
