2020 F150 "BAWG Build"

I popped the hood to look but couldn't really tell. I would probably just throw it on the frame rails since there is definitely room down there. Or my other thought is just getting a 4d battery case (with battery inside) and throw a 12 v socket on the top for plugging the fridge into and then run a charger to it from the truck battery. This fridge sips .75ah/h so I am sure a 4d would be more than enough for what I do.

IMHO there is not enough room under the hood.

If you got creative you could use a couple of smaller 12v batteries under the back seat.

This Smittybuilt is supposed to fit ‘15+ F150’s:

I am kind of confused as to how that actually fits. I will have to pop the hood again and see how that would mount. My battery is almost touching the hood as it is, so if this bracket keeps that one the same and just mounts the one lower than that would be cool.

I was thinking if you just got a $20 ebay E-series frame battery bracket i am sure it could fit somewhere along the frame. If I can find one local ill throw it around and see what happens. Can't order stuff at the moment otherwise I will be gone when it shows up.

I don't see how that can fit? The stock battery mount rest on top of the wheel well liner and there isn't but a few inches at most between the top of the battery and the hood.

The hardest part about that plan will be bolting it to the frame. The F150 has fully boxed frame rails... Gotta use inserts or something.

Yeah, I thought the same. But these guys are fairly competent when it comes to F150. Says that it’s supposed to fit. I haven’t looked under the hood of an F150 in a while so can’t verify:

Edit:
Can’t see how that would fit either. Optima Red’s are ~7” wide. That means 14” high. Stock battery is something like 7.5” high.

Wonder if they actually tried it before writing the sales add? I can't find a pic of anyone who has installed one.

Premade trolling motor box would be a good choice.

Any Marine grade item would probably be well suited for that use. As long as the wires from the are tucked up above the frame rails they should be well protected. You could throw a manual shut off at the box itself, or one in cab if you're feeling fancy.

That is a group 27 on the passenger side frame. When the battery dies I will redo the mount for 2 group 24s tucked up a little higher. The battery could go up another inch or 2.
1. I'm guessing that you lift it in place with a floor jack?
2. Do the connections get corroded being exposed like that?
3. That's pretty freaking slick!

it goes up easy with the floor jack

no issues with corrosion but I globbed grease on the terminals

I've toyed with the idea of doing the same thing...buuuut I don't really need it so it's pretty low on the list :-(

Love yours though ?
