2021 F150 Tremor Thoughts?

You can get an Eaton e locker for the front for about 875 plus install. I would much prefer that over an lsd in the front.

Yeah..... For me I have really not needed one yet. Last year we took the 18 onefitty up yankee boy basin in CO, and the limiting factor for us was all the idiots that parked along the last few hundred yards. As we got to the top it became a mess to turn around without damaging anything parked. Our XLT has a 3 inch leveling kit and stock tires. That is very capable and I think we would just get our self in more trouble that we want if we had a front locker. I think when august rolls around and we get close to the 10K discounts as inventory builds back up that is where I will be. Must for me is B&O sound, Push button start, HD towing, and 36 gal fuel to name a few. Then have this installed by my dealer:

33-34's and I will come out way ahead that the tremor as that unit most likely wont carry much incentives.

I guess that will work on the not turbo engines. But wouldn’t the winch block the airflow to the inter cooler on the 3.5 and 2.7 TT
Aftermarket intercooler negates that problem. Also...the 2015+ trucks are designed to have part of the IC blocked by a front tag.... Soooo you have some wiggle room.

That is my absolute favorite area. I’d like to do more exploring along the Alpine loop.

I haven’t done any of the crazy obstacles, but all the trails I’ve been on didn’t even need a rear locker. Actually did it on stock tires on my Tacoma (31’s).
32-33” on F150 would be just fine. Although a 2-3” lift would make things easier (with less spotting).

Yes and adds another $800 to $1400 in parts alone not to mention the warranty.
I don’t have that kinda money, just a working man here.

Lol... Mine was 380.00 + 45.00 for a silicone elbow to hook it to the stock piping. Definitely money well spent in my book. It does everything better than the OEM intercooler. Right now my IAT is 6° above ambient temp.... While sitting in rush hour traffic on a 89° day. Stock would be over 120° and take quite a while to cool down once I started moving. It also allows the trubos to spool at a lower RPM and it spools them faster.

As for the warranty...lol. An intercooler can neither fail nor can it cause other parts to fail. If a dealer blames anything on an intercooler... Run fast and far away from them... They are 100% incompetent. ;-)

I appreciate that it works so well for you. I will stick with my warranty.

Lol... The Magnuson–Moss Warranty Act is a wonderful thing... Unless you plan on staying 100% stock.

Why not stay stock? She does all I need, and if she breaks I'll drop her off to be repaired.

So, took a look at the local dealers websites today. Did a search for Tremor and nothing less than $75K F250s. Got a recall to take care of, so will drop by one and see if I can bend the ear of someone.

Stock is boring and can always be improved upon...lol.

My warranty is expired...so the absolute last place I would take my truck is a dealership.

I don't think the F150 Tremors have hit the lots yet. I'm not even seeing them show up on build and price. I believe they are thinking summer for them to be on the lots?

My truck is stock cause I'm a cheap bastard....

Dropped her off at the service dept at 0700. Oil change fluid topped off and tire rotation for $49. And they washed the muddy thing.
Walked around the lot and found a F250 Tremor, very nice. But has the 6.7 diesel. The sales floor wasn’t open yet so no one to ask. But I did try the truck builder they have in the lobby. It has even less info than the online one. Basically what color do you want, what cab and 2 or 4 wd. So pretty much useless.
I did press my face up against the window of a couple of the trucks and the screen is pretty large. I like how the shifter is now separated from the mode buttons.
Truthfully I would stick with the FX4 and stack it with Max Tow or HDPP or both. So at what point does building up your F150 to carry the load become more expensive than just getting a F250. The gasser versions of the F250 are pretty reasonable.

This is what I keep going back to. FX4 with max tow and HDPP.

When I built these two truck, I equipped them as close to each other as I could. F250 is a 6.2L, HDPP is a 3.5. HDPP is 301a and F250 has the value pkg.

F250 is about 7K more plus Super Duty incentives usually aren't as good as F150. (I find Super Duty has less rebates and higher interest rates)

True, however with the superduty you get a larger bed, higher payload and towing capacity.
A few other things are the HD rear end and solid front axle.
But you also get the extra weight, lower HP and Torque (3.5 EB vs 6.2) and a physically larger truck that is harder to maneuver on the trails and in the parking lot.

Supercrew HDPP requires the 6.5" box. I guessed overall length would be similar to a crew cab s/box F250?

Agree it is a HD truck so would handle weight better. For me, I really only require that much payload / towing maybe 5% of the time? 95% it's just me driving empty.

So an F150 would be cheaper on gas, insurance etc.... I think.....

Heart says Super Duty, Head says F150 if I am real about my needs vs wants.

Solid axle. I get the appeal but the countless IFS vehicles I've owned have done everything I've needed them to. With no worries of death wobble and possibly a better unladen ride....

I believe the 3.5 makes it's torque much lower than the 6.2 or even 7.3 so i wonder which truck would tow easier? Heavier Super Duty may reduce sway. But again, similar wheelbase trucks.......
